You deleted everything? sliders, profile, gameplay, rosters? i saw that you deleted the game, patch and used the current scea roster but i didn't see for sure that it was everything new- ie sliders, profile, gameplay with post patch rosters and a fresh game and patch install.

Do you have franchise freezes, replay missing, and RTTS issues if you did the above? or just the roster control issues?

Sometimes hard to keep up in the hodgepodge that can be this thread. I do appreciate the structured approach you are taking to find the issues, its getting rare that people try to solve a problem instead of complain about one.


I personally haven't had any new issues post patch. I am using rosters i edited off of knights, playing RTTS and have replays. I just wondered if everything was deleted with only 100% new files whether it would work for all.

Yea, I failed to mention before I got rid of ALL of my MLB 09 saves including sliders (you can redownload them anyway) , settings, profile, rosters, old franchises, everything including the newer SCEA 4/27 roster I downloaded the AM before the patch came out.

I have NO issues whatsoever, but it may just be coincidence.

Not sure what is going on with your game.

Do this:

Delete GAME Utility data MLB 09 The show file by highlighting only it and pressing the triangle and choose delete. This is important to do if the game isn't working anymore at all. Your install probably got "corrupt".

Delete all of your MLB 09 saves if you don't need them. If you need them don't worry about it.

Turn off your PS3, turn it back on and MAKE SURE YOU ARE ONLINE, go into the playstation store or check your internet connection.
Put the game disc in.
It should ask you if you want the patch. Say yes.
After its done, the game will start up, but it must install.
Give it time (15 minutes or so if I remember) to install to your HDD and don't interrupt it while it s showing the install bar. It will say press start when its done.
Viola! Game back.

I hope you only deleted the MLB 09 the show file in the GAME DATA UTILITY folder. You didn't need to delete anything else except maybe your MLB 09 game saves.
Try unplugging your PS3 for a few minutes and then plugging it back in and rebooting.
If you continue having problems it may be your hard drive and you may have to reformat (or even worse your PS3 is bricked due to a console update gone bad). Hope you don't have too much stuff on there you can't get back .

I don't know what else to tell you and we're cluttering up this thread even more .

It's most likely:
- A faulty sector on the internal hard drive (maybe you interrupted install causing this to happen?) If your hard drive is bad, you can replace it with any SATA laptop HDD.
- A bad firmware install.(maybe you needed a firmware update and it was interrupted due to poor internet connection, user interruption, or act of God) That could mean your system is bricked, unfortunately, and you would need Sony repair.

The patch would not have affected your machine in this way at all. When you delete the Game utility MLB 09 cache it deletes the patch.

I would do a google on the error code. Start with this link:

Sorry I can't help you more, but a google search should help you. Contact Sony. Good luck. Just deleting the MLB 09 Game Data Utility MLB 09 cache wouldn't have done anything to your PS3. I am not sure what you did or what happened since I wasn't there.

doc i listened to u n sacrificed my files and now it seems my games busted but i love dis stuffy my cd is perfect clean. i know ur tryen to help doc but dis patch 1.06 has totally killed my show.wut now?call scea sony 1 800 number n explain 4 replacement. i feel lik i jus got robed?

I just played my second game (Exhibition) since the patch. The first time I played with SCEA 04.27 rosters and no launch to SportsConnect. Today I played my second game, I launched to SportsConnect and didn't log out, I used Knight's version 2 Roster Set, and I got all post game highlights just fine. I might add that I did not delete anything from my PS3, no files, nothing. Not sure if I did anything special to get them, but they did work this time. Later

anyone else having less hits post patch? ever since i got the patch my offense has taken an extreme nose dive. im averaging 2 runs a game with my Dodgers. YIKES!!!!!!

Man this thread has become a huge clusterfudge now. Im finally getting ready to start my franchise tomorrow (going to Rays/Sox game tonight). HOPING that Russell makes it in here soon to update us.

When I say I deleted everything, I deleted everything. Game Data, Save, etc. The Show is the only thing on my PS3. I wiped everything clean. To no avail.

I feel your pain fist. I hope we can get some sort of update soon. Like someone mentioned in a previous post this thread has become a huge "clusterfudge".

Fist, since you are having the same problems as me with no post game highlights, I always look for your posts.
