I am sure once they know how they are going to handle the situation, it will be communicated to us.

I don't think they are just going to disappear and not tell us anything.

      Moemoe

Please don't tell me to play something else. I bought the game for what I knew about it since last year when these issues were not thete. These issues might be small to you but not to me. Line ups are part of thr realism of the game. If they are going to call it the most realistic experience then I should not have to use modified rosters to get a feature to work. Line ups are part of the realism of mlb baseball and so is dh stamina. So is 60 day dl issue...those are all part of baseball.

I don't want to use modied rosters. I want to use the rosters that came with the game. Those should be the ones with no issues and I should not have to buy a second controller to get the line ups to work like they did last yea

So don't tell me to play something else. Don't tell me to use modied rosters to get over the issues.

I don't tell you to hate the game or love the game

I am not insulting scea or being unreseonable with my dissapointment. Stop trying to tell people that we are making to much of a deal just cuz u feel that way...

I am around 10 games in and replays have worked EVERY time including in-game replays of guys hitting HRs.

I have had some really high scoring games, some low ones, and have been in and out of the bullpen using both the up directional pad and by pressing start.

FYI: I have a launch PS3 and got the patch right away when it came out in the AM that day. After I got the patch, I tried it out and it wasn't working the way I thought it would concerning CPU roster control so on a whim I deleted all my MLB files and I put the game in, it reinstalled the patch first (I was connected to the internet), and then installed the game again to the HDD. I then went on Sports connect and got the SCEA 4/27 roster file. I then started a franchise with a SCEA 4/27 roster I edited myself for the Cubs. I have started multiple franchises with that roster and haven't had problems (replays, freezing) either when playing them.

It's like you keep harping on these same things instead of doing what you can to overcome the little issues. If you would give Knights roster a chance, you would be very happy.....believe me!!
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with this statement. Whether you love the game or not, there has to be recognition of what a sim is. You can without a doubt claim that MLB 09 features the best GAMEPLAY ever in a baseball game. But having lineups where Todd Helton leads off and David Ortiz plays 1st base over Kevin Youkilis really dampers the "sim" aspect of the game.

Also, if we're at a point where we're pointing to fixes created by community members as the only viable way to enjoy this game, I'd suggest that SCEA pay Knight and Doc commission for figuring out how to make something work that even their programmers couldn't crack.

Ok, i got my first crash in franchise! April 16th, 2010....Game crashes every time I try to go to this date. It is a pre-patch franchise.

I mean, it's a video game, not a case of national security. If he doesn't know the answer...fine, say so, or say that things are being discussed and SCEA will know on or around so-and-so date.

Instead we get cryptic answers which I think is a bit weak,
              IMO.
There is no secrecy I post when I have updates if I don't have updates I don't post. I try to stay around the boards as much as possible, but I can't be everywhere at the same time. It also makes it that much harder when threads get off track or cluttered with pointless posts.

Trust me if it gets posted I see it if there is a problem its taken to the part of the team that can do something about it.

I only deal in absolutes the last thing I want to do is say we are going to do something and then we don't for what ever reason.

Right on, and props to them for their hard work. They've made it a great sim by overcoming Sony's flaws.

truth is, you could disagree with their ad slogan no matter how accurate anything is. The reason being, its a video game. The slogan doesn't say that it replicates real life baseball step for step, detail for detail.

It states that its the most realistic game out there and compared to its competition and the past, I would have to agree with the slogan. It is the most realistic baseball title that I have played to date...screwed up lineups or not.

I can relate to some of what you are saying, but until they fix this situation, you will just have to make do like I did by using my CPU roster control on workaround for sim games and using the second controller workaround for played games. If not you are out of luck until/if they fix it.

We are stuck having to do that unless/until they fix the game. They know about the issues and the ball is in their court now. Like the old cliche goes, when life gives you lemons you have to make lemonade . That is the philosophy I take in life, and I am happier since I do so most of the time.

I am by no means trying to belittle some of your comments. I am a roster control guy myself, and I don't like to have to do all this work, especially since I don't have a lot of time to play in the evenings anymore. I end up staying up way to late, lol. I agree with you on DH stamina and the DL "issue". Hopefully they fix those for next year at least.

it would be nice for them to tell all of these people that are having freezes a little quicker though. Think about the people out there that never go to boards and read about the patches. There are thousands of people that don't know what is going on with their game and their PS3.

I'm sure they are trying to fix the problems and then decide whether they are going to patch the game or not. I was just expecting something a little sooner.

It looks like no online play and no updated rosters for me until this is resolved because I'm not d/ling the patch.

I dont think the lineups are screwed up for the most part. Are they EXACTLY like real life? Not always, but who wouldve thought that some teams would bat their pitcher in the 8 spot (Cardinals i think)?

They based it ratings so when people like AROD got hurt they didnt bat Ransom in his spot, but went in and adjusted the lineup to best fit attributes.

exactly and I wish they would not have. It was all the complaining people that caused the problem. The fixed it and it broke something else. Sometimes things just need to be left alone.

I was implying that most people would rather be told something concrete rather than SCEA come on here and say "we think we know how to fix it" or "we might be able to do this/that" which is what Russell said when he talked about dealing in only absolutes.

Look, I'm confident, given how they've been in the past, that as soon as they have something concrete, they'll relay the information. Until then, people will have to just make do. Either play the game as is or find something else to occupy their time.
