Humans are imperfect, so I don't expect a game without some hiccups at release.[Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Looking for some help on this one.
Currently I am in the midst of my 2011 season(July 11, 2011), I am not able to move forward because the as soon as I try to click into the schedule the system immediately restarts. It is frustrating. Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there a fix for this issue?Comment

How does that work? People have only said they can only delete the whole game, not just the patch itself.....Comment

You have to delete the game data utility in the main Playstation menu. (but not any saved game files).
Then when you start it up again, it will redo the initial installation. You won't have patch 1.01 anymore either, but as far as anyone can tell it didn't do anything important anyway.
The disadvantages to this are that you won't be able to play online and you won't be able to download SCEA roster updates. Also, you will lose any custom music information (like marks) that you may have.
The advantage is that you can continue your franchise. I guess it depends on how far in you are and if you have the patience to replay whatever you've done so far.
Good luck.

I'm pretty sure I never said anything about weekly attribute updates those are only done once a month. You will still get the weekly roster updates as always.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
What is the actual date people with pre-patch franchises are having problems? The date of the schedule change?
I may try to sim past that date to see if mine crashes. I know some people aren't crashing at that specific date. I hope mine makes it past!!!!Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
If you were already past this game in your franchise or RTTS, it screwed up the schedule causing crashing when you look at the schedule screen.
As far as I can tell, sometimes it will freeze at your schedule, sometimes if you're looking at another teams schedule, sometimes in april, sometimes in may (you get the point). Everyone has had different experiences with this it seems.
Anyway, if you have a franchise that is past the date when they added the game, there is a chance that you will encounter the freeze and I would suggest you either delete the patch, or restart your franchise.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
I have my franchise crash in June after playing about 30 games since the patch. All I did was delete the patch, sim past the day (June 5) that it was crashing and now I have played another 25 games with no crashing. All it took was some patience and critical thinking, I do not see any need to restart a franchise. Yes it sucks to sim a couple games, but better than the drastic solution some feel the need to offer.Comment
