    re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

So, in my latest Mets Chise, I am struggling mightily at the plate. Again, I just can't hit with Delgado, so I am thinking about moving him and getting younger at the plate. I want to move him to an AL team, because realistically, I think he could play longer if he had the option of DH...So, here's where I am at.

I am currently 13-15 and in 3rd place in the NL east behind Atlanta and Florida. I had made some trades before the year started, and one just isn't working out for me, and that is getting Buchholz from Boston. I can pitch 3-4 innings with him, but after that he just seems to implode every time. However, he's a great prospect, and I think would be a great trade tool.

I really have eyes for Justin Morneau...but I'm not sure the trade package would be enough that they would bite on it in real life...What do you think?

    Mets Get:

    1B Justin Morneau

    Twins Get:

    1B Carlos Delgado
    SP Clay Buchholz
    CF Fernando Martinez

At this point, I am willing to give Delgado another month to get his crap together (that would put me at mid june) before I start seriously thinking about it...but it is just an option that I see right now.

I also just flipped Lars Anderson to the Braves for Jordan Schafer and Cole Rohrbough. Put Blanks back at First , plugged in Schafer in Center, moved Gwynn to Right.

My Rebuilding Process so far looks like this:

        FACES IN

        SP Clay Buchholz (MLB)
        RP Daniel Bard (MLB)
        OF Josh Reddick (AA)
        SP Cole Rohrbough (AAA)
        OF Jordan Schafer (MLB)
        3B Matt Dominguez (AAA)
        OF Reggie Willits (AAA)
        SP Sean O'Sullivan (AAA)
        2B Esmailyn Gonzalez (AA)

        FACES OUT

        Adrian Gonzalez
Lars Anderson (if you count him, acquired and flipped)
        Chris Young
        Kevin Correia
        David Eckstein
        Cha Seung Baek
        Josh Geer (released)

If i continue to drop out I still have Peavy i can move for further prospects, i plan on dumping Kouzmanoff off as well. I traded Giles to the Cubs for Starlin Castro.

With the flip of Lars, I basically got Buchholz, Bard, Reddick, Schafer, and Rohrbough for Adrian.

I won't name a particular trade I have done because they seem alittle too simple to pull off big names (I once got Kinsler which was nice).

But the Twins seemingly want to give away their pitching staff. It is very easy to get any of their pitchers or multiple in a deal.

A pitcher I usually do trade for that is somewhat lower is Anthony Reyes. He usually sims really well and after the first year you can lock him up pretty cheap for a long time.

In a Braves Franchise, I made the following moves (Not overly concerned with realism) :
            Rockies get:
Derek Lowe (and his absurd contract)
            Omar Infante
            AA Level SP (A Potential)

            Braves get:
            Brad Hawpe
            Ubaldo Jimenez
            AA Level 3B (A Potential)

I get a younger, cheaper SP, and a great outfielder by clearing out an old SP with a bad contract and Infante from a crowded infield.

            then,

            Red Sox get:
            Tim Hudson
            Casey Kotchman
            AA SP (C Potential)

            Braves get:
            Kevin Youkilis
            Clay Buchholz
            Daniel Bard

The thinking behind this was to get rid of the light-hitting Kotchman and Hudson's contract (1 yr left). Also, to get someone who can play 1B and then third after Chipper retires, clearing the way for Freddie Freeman at first. Getting Buchholz and Bard were just bonuses in my opinion. I'll probably hang onto Bard, but dangle Buchholz on the trading block.

            Then,

            Cubs get:
            Garret Anderson

            Braves get:
            Kosuke Fukudome

I'm not sure how to justify this one other than that I really didn't like playing with Anderson. Fukudome is also younger and cheaper.

Could someone give me an opinion on these? I keep thinking that I made a steal on the two big trades, but I feel like I may be missing something.

what year are you in? doesnt make alot of sense to trade gonzalez unless his contract is coming up. also what rosters are you using? i have a padres chise that i sim. i use knight's rosters and padres have a very good base of young talent, though they may not be superstars.

imo if you trade young, then bring someone up from AAA and try to get a 3b or outfielder.

I am playing the Cubs and traded:

                LF Soriano
                1B Lee
                and RP Heilman

                for 1b Pujols.

I know Pujols is the face of the franchise and I am aware of the Cubs-Cards rivalry, but I think this is fair value. It fills the hole in the Cardinals LF(started the franchise before the A's trade), they receive a golden glover and some help in their weak bullpen.

There is no fair value to trade for Pujols

I have a rotation of Fukudome, Taguchi and Baker. Baker is my first choice although he has the worst ovr. He just hits and hits. Has an avg of .320 and 4 HRs already half way through May.

I use the Cubs in my franchise and Marmol is the worst! His era is close to 6.00, 3-7 record. I now try to use him when I have a 3-4 run lead but he will face 1 batter and either give up a HR or a hit that starts the rally going and I have to pull him sooner than I want, I can't get anyone out with him.
