Marlins get Eric Bruntlett (SS) and Madson (RP; I can't pitch with him; in 11 games he blew 5 saves :/)

then:
Phillies (me) get Kevin Youkilis (3B)
RedSox get Pedro Martinez (SP), Dan Uggla (2B) and Matt Stairs (1B)

I was surprised that the RedSox put Youk on the trading block but I think it was quite fair.

BTW, Yankees put CC on the trading block too

Cody Ross couldn't hit the broadside of barn and his lack of speed in Center was killing me so I had to dump him for someone I could. Nieto was never going to get the bigs with me He was behind Delmon Young and Cameron Maybin, among others.

Is it conceivable that, given this situation, the Giants would deal Lincecum or Cain recognizing that they may not have the jack to sign both in the off-season?

I'm not sure if the AI intentionally dumps salary or initiates a "re-building" phase if the team has a terrible record, but I've seen some moves that certainly look that way.

And, yes, for some ungodly reason the Giants put Lincecum on the block in 2010 in my franchise. He had a $11M one-year deal that was expiring. I acquired him and Buster Posey (A-prospect) for Paul Konerko, AJ Pierzynski and Brett Anderson (A-prospect). That off-season, Lincecum wanted 4-6 years at $22M/yr.

I've also seen the Mariners trade Felix Hernandez (~$10M) to the Rays for James Shields (~$2-3M?) after the 2010 season. The Brewers put Ryan Braun on the block in 2010, despite him having an affordable contract (~6 years, ~$7M/yr). I acquired Braun for Carlos Santana (A-level catching prospect).

And quite possibly the strangest moves I've seen, in the 2010 offseason, the Mets out-bid St. Louis for Albert Pujols (~$21M/yr), but lost Jose Reyes to the Yankees ($22M/yr). The Yankees had just re-signed Jeter, so they were using Reyes at DH in 2011.

some old crap for some young talent.. seems a bit unfair to me.. but oh well!

2011, just traded John Lannan, a 22 year-old pitching prospect, and a 20 year-old catcher for...Francisco Liriano. Steal of the damn century, if you ask me. I only threw in the catcher because the Twins lost Maurer to free agency. unreal.

I was Cards in a franchise and I got Gallardo for Carpenter and Wellmeyer + Ludwick for Lincecum.

Talk about a 1-2 punch for the next 5 or 6 years.

I'm closing in on the end of May in my franchise and really struggling to put a winning streak together. I'll win one and then lose one, I just can't get above .500 to save my life. I decided to look at the trading block to see who was available and I see that the Diamondbacks just have put Justin Upton on the trading block. I'm thinking to myself that's interesting, this is probably something I should look into. Knowing how the CPU trade logic is though I didn't want to rip them off. I could have gotten him simply for Kawakami and Church but I didn't think that was fair so what I did was offer them Ryan Church, Gorky's Hernandez, and Cole Rohrbough for Upton and Showenwiess.

That still probably isn't a deal that would ever be made in real life but Upton wouldn't be put on the trading block in real life either. I can at least rationalize this trade by saying I gave up a good pitching prospect and a good CF prospect to get a stud hitter.

I got Brian McCann from the Braves for Ivan Rodriguez and a couple minor leaguers. Also sent Brian Mohler to the Tigers for Edwin Jackson. So far neither have seemed to help considering I am on an 8 game losing streak.

A struggling Carlos Ruiz and Dallas Braden, who I picked up from the A's, for Jared Saltalamacchia.

His first game with the Phillies, he hit two HR's and a double, next game he hits yet another homer, and his 3rd game. He scores the only run for the Phillies with a homer. The guy's a beast.

Am the Red Sox in my 2nd season, lost in the ALDS to the Angels, lost J-Bay to the Braves.

This season i have had real starting pitching problems, behind Lester and Beckett, Dice-K has a record of 4-3 with a 4.22 ERA, however hasn't completed the 6th inning yet, so is tiring the 'pen.

Buchholz and Luke Hochevar started badly but are picking up a bit.

Anyway i looked at the trading block (am 35 games in 18-17) and saw all these pitchers on the block (Verlander, Carmona, Schmidt, Hamels, Halladay, Guthrie and Johan Santana)

So i shopped around see what i'll need to give up and saw this trade

Mets get

Daisuke Matzusaka
Lars Anderson
Justin Masterson

Red Sox get

Johan Santana
