I just dealt Bengie Molina because my team is pretty much out of it.

    Phillies get:
    Bengie Molina
    AAA OF

    Giants get:
    J.A. Happ
    Jason Knapp
    Lou Marson

      re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

Injuries are killing my season, I had already lost Prado for two months and now Adam LaRoche just fractured his arm and he's out for 2 months. So I'm left with Greg Norton as my only 1st baseman and I have no one ready in the minors. I'm 25-24 and 6 1/2 GB on June 1st. I had no choice, I had to go get a first baseman. I'm not playing Norton everyday, just simply not going to do it and since I acquired Upton earlier in the month I think I have a team that can win so I'm not going to let that injury kill my season.

The Royals had Mike Jacobs on the block and he's hitting .309 with 9 HR....they were looking for a RP and an outfielder so I sent them Buddy Carlyle (1-1, 2.95 ERA) and Luis Sumoza.

I lose a good reliever but I can just promote Medlen to take his spot. I also traded KK for a good 3rd base prospect to make room for Hanson.

Hopefully no one else will get hurt because I'm running out of depth.

Having a problem deciding which trade I should go for. I'm not pitching all that well with Rich Harden in my Cubs Franchise and I think its time for him to go. I'm in the middle of June and his current stats are 3-2 with a 5.20 ERA.

I checked the teams trading block and only the Orioles and the Rangers need a starting pitcher. So I came up with these two possible trades:

        Orioles get:
        SP Rich Harden
and possibly 2B Mike Fontenot (Just to make it a little more even)

        Cubs(me) get:
        2B Brian Roberts (A pot.)
        SP Chris Tillman (B pot.)
        SP Brian Matusz (B pot.)

        OR

        Rangers get:
        SP Rich Harden

        Cubs(me) get:
        1B Justin Smoak (A pot.)
        CF Greg Golson (B pot.)
        3B Joaquin Arias (B pot.)

I'm near the worst in pitching in the league right now in almost every pitching category so I need pitching but I also need some young prospects because I traded the ones I originally had for Roy Halladay and Dontrelle Willis. Ted Lilly is gone as well as I sent him to Toronto in the Halladay trade. Looking for the best and most realistic trade possible. Any suggestions?

That first trade wouldn't be realistic in real life as Matusz is almost untouchable, but the 2nd is realistic.

I think Smoak is an untouchable as well actually.

It's hard to do any trade on this game that is considered 'realistic'. Just do whatever trade YOU think you should do. I personally would go for that first trade, since you aren't getting any pitching back from Texas.

Thanks for the suggestions. Decided to go with the TEX Rangers one and replaced Smoak for Derek Holland who is an SP with a B Potential Rating. So hopefully this works out and I start pitching better.

Season 1...My Mets are in it and the Astros are out of contention. I dealt 25 year old Jeff Francoeur, 27 Year Old Angel Pagan and JJ Putz to Houston for 33 year old Lance Berkman and Wesley Wright. Moving an aging Berkman back to RF. I proceeded to move Wright to Baltimore for Chris Ray.

Marson is a future good catcher I think (and in my Phillies Franchise he took the strating job to a struggling Ruiz)

JA Happ is also a future #2 or #3 spot. His curve is terrible.

So I think you make a great deal, that's it!

I have yet to come across a game in which trading is realistic. I hope this is something Sony focuses on for next year. Teams are incredibly reluctant to trade prospects...that should be reflected in the game. For instance i see a lot of people have traded for Justin Smoak. Right now you would need to offer the Rangers an awful lot to get Smoak. Potential A guys should be nearly impossible to trade for IMO.

Happ isn't rated as high as he should be and Marson only has C potential, and Molina was hitting .300 so I thought it was fair considering that the Phillies were going for a wildcard spot.

Awesome to hear someone agrees with me. I think trading is something that has been largely overlooked by baseball games.

I think teams in the race should trade young guys for vets...not sure if this game does that but every baseball game i've ever played it has just been random...two players were close in ability so a trade was made...even if team A now had 3 first basemen.

I don't think straight up offers shoudl always be made. I think you should get a notification that a cpu is interested in a player on your team...then you should have some sort of negotiations back and forth trying to work something out.

Look at some trades in real baseball this year. Toronto got NOTHING for Alex Rios. CWS got basically nothing for Thome. The Rays an average player for Kazmir. Contracts, especially right now, are a HUGE factor. Teams don't want to take on money and that should be in the game. I'm guessing in this game i could trade Kazmir for 3 top prospects...just doesn't happen in real life.

Could somebody recommend an everyday 3rd baseman who is speedy enough to hit lead off for me? Scutaro is getting on my last nerve as a lead off hitter and Encarnacion is just not getting it done with the bat or the glove.

                              Thanks.
