I was worried about re-signing Votto in the future, and I'm not sure Alonso will reach his potential in the game. I'm sure I could trade one of the 3 for a piece I'll need in the future. Depth is always a good thing to have.

Oh ok. That makes sense. Is Smoak in the majors for you?

I traded SS Chris Gomez and Util Ryan Freel to the Royals for OF Mark Teahen

Teahen plays a bunch of positions and he is pretty young.

No, AAA. I want to give him a couple years of player progression before I bring him to the majors to stay.

One thing I've noticed is that it's pretty easy to trade for C/As. Players with C overall, A potential can be acquired for minimal cost. That's one thing that should be looked at for next year. I traded Janish and Kevin Barker for Gordon Beckham. That's a trade that would never happen in real life.

I needed desparate help in a young bullpen and traded Joe Crede to Detriot for Joel Zumaya.

Now I need to shore up third base.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a "best trade", but I dumped Derrek Lee to Seattle. He's good in the game (overrated) but I just am extremely down on him in real life and am pretty pleased playing with Hoffpauir and Fox so I traded him to Seattle around the deadline for Jimenez (LH RP/C POT), Aumont (LH RP/B POT) and Vargas (LH SP/B POT).

I'm not quite sure how I feel about it right now, I like to do realistic trades and I'm a little undecided as to how "realistic" this is. If you're going off of the games ratings then I think it's decently fair, I'm just not sure if Seattle (or any team for that fact) would want D-Lee for the amount of money he is making. If anyone could shed some light on the trade that would be greatly appreciated.

                re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

In my Bums franchise, I've been battling the Diamondbacks for first all year. They just won't go away. My 'pen has been my biggest strength, so on the off-day after the All-Star break I dealt Mota and Ohman to the Yankees who were looking for relief help (they were 6 gms outta first, and 3.5 outta the WC) for Austin Jackson and Dellin Betances. Mota had a 1.35 ERA in 43.0 IP and Ohman had a 1.88 ERA in 31.2 IP at the time of the trade. I also included a B-potential prospect on my end since Jackson had A-potential and both relievers are one 1-year contracts (obvious post-season run rentals).

Then the weekend before the trade deadline, I fell out of first and lost Randy Wolf for 2-3 weeks, so made a blockbuster deal with Toronto (they're 18.5 out of the WC):

C Russell Martin, SS Ivan DeJesus, OF Austin Jackson, SP James McDonald, SP Dellin Betances, SP Eric Stults, SP Josh Lindbloom
                for
SP Roy Halladay, SS Martin Scutaro, RP Jason Frasor

DeJesus had been up for an injured Furcal (due back in mid-August) and done pretty well (.277, 3 HR, 16 RBI in a little over 100AB), and Stults had been in the rotation all season in place of Kuroda (who just got healthy and made his first start a few games before Wolf's injury) and was 8-5 with a 3.82 ERA.

At the time of the trade Halladay was 3-8 with a 4.25 ERA and was 'on the block' along with Scutaro.

I've been averaging almost 48,000 fans a game, so figured I could take on the extra payroll, especially if I can get into the playoffs.

I have Halladay lined up to make his Dodgers debut when I get home from work tonight.

Now 2.5 behind the D-Backs with two months left, this is what I'm working with:

                Line-Up
SS M.Scutaro (Furcal due back in two weeks)
                2B O.Hudson
                LF M.Ramirez
                RF A.Ethier
                3B C.Blake
                1B J.Loney
                CF M.Kemp
                C B.Ausmus/D.Ardoin

                Bench
                2B M.Loretta
SS J.Castro (will go to AAA when Furcal comes back)
                LF X.Paul
                LF J.Pierre

                SP
                R.Halladay
                C.Billingsley
                H.Kuroda
                C.Kershaw
                J.Weaver (until Wolf comes back)

                RP
                H.Kuo
                C.Wade
                R.Troncoso
                R.Belisario
                J.Frasor
                B.Leach
                J.Broxton

Can't wait to see how it goes!

i am the Jays and really struggling. We are 10-17. It seems like I just cant get my pitching to be good at the same time as the bats are firing, and vice versa.

Vernon Wells is hitting .190 for me with 1 HR and 9 RBI. I want to get rid of him. ANY ADVICE??? The only problem is that I would need an every day OF if I do trade him. I was thinking of maybe playing Rios in CF and trading some young pitching for another OF. any advice anybody?

Matt Holliday for the A's would be good everyday OF, I would suggest maybe trading Richmond, Wells and BJ for him.

I'm the Cubs, and I just traded CP Kevin Gregg to the Tigers for RP Joel Zumaya straight up. I'm never good with Gregg, and he's too flat out horrible. If his energy isn't full, he blows saves. I'm moving Marmol to closer and having Zumaya at set-up.

Now I'm thinking about moving Theriot for Stephen Drew. Not sure, but they like it.

Gregg is great for me, 10/11 saves and an era of 0.73, Theriot on the other hand is finally showing some signs of life. He is up to .253 now( about 40 games in), I would pull the trigger on the Drew deal.

I've traded Noah Lowry 10-4 3.54 ERA and Eliezer Alfonzo .310 20 HR 78 RBI to the Jays for Roy Halladay and Joe Inglett. From my perspective it was a pretty fair trade for both Jays replace Halladay with a pitcher who is younger and with a longer and cheaper contract they also get a catcher who is under contract for the next 5 years at 1.2 mil a year and they get power from that position. I get a third ace but I add 13.4 million in payroll. I love pitching with Halladay his curve is so nasty and Inglett is a great 4th outfielder with speed and a little pop.

The only trade I made in my Cubs franchise was 2 AA prospects(LF & C) to Detroit for a AA LF and Mike Hessman(AAA 3b). I lost Aramis Ramirez for 2 months and Fontenot his replacement for the year. I also lost my top third base prospect(AA) Josh Vitters for the year.

I was looking for a big name replacement in a trade but decided to get Hessman who has really good power vs RHP. So when Ramirez comes back I will have some right handed(Hessman) & Lefthanded(Hoffpauir) pop off the bench.

I have Zumaya on my Cardinal club. He's pheonomenal. Traded Joe Crede for him since Crede apparently couldn't hit .200 in the NL thru a month and a half of baseball.

Now closing out June...Zumaya has 1.02 ERA and is our setup guy. He also closes when Perez is tired.
