re: Put your "wishlist" things HERE (even though it's late in the game)
That would be sweet. But, I've got to agree with Jim. I would take this game, the way it looks and plays, next year, only with the issues taken care of. They could just stamp 2010 on this years box for all I care......just fix the current issues. I could play this years game for the rest of my life, just add the current players and rosters. That would make me plenty happy.Comment

SCEA is in the business of making money and you might not believe this but OS members are in the huge minority when it comes to sales for the game..
SCEA is like any other company...as hard as that is for you to believe..
they want to attract more and more fans and the only way to do that is to improve the game..
Russ is right..the games will always have bugs...bugs are part of the game..but game killer bugs to me are not acceptable...
there are work arounds for the issues this year but most require things that a lot dont want to do like use edited rosters or buy a second controller to just get line ups to stick
Here is a suggestion...Take what you have and improve it little by little every year...
the game is farrrrr from perfect so it has plenty of space to improve...
the game sells milliions...and it wont if the dont improve the game year to year...like we all expect from our games...Comment

well that is the diff...you are just a single person and in the huge minority to think that people will spend 60 bucks again on the same game with the stamp of 10 on it...

There's nothing wrong with improving the game. I'd just advise some people to realize sometimes you get just what you wish for (not, lol). But just putting stuff in a game that doesn't work, or causes more problems than it's worth.......bad business decision.

#2 would be cool. I remember NBA Inside Drive 2000 (most underrated b-ball game ever) had a feature where you could play the games set to that calendar day. It was strangely entertaining.Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment

I'm with Jim. As cool as those features are, I would rather see a little more polish and improvements on current GAMEPLAY issues. All the bells and whistles can come later. I'm not saying The Show is unpolished (I love the game as it is), but it can definately use some cleaning up here and there.Comment

Jim - you are 1000% right. Rid this game of the bugs/glitches that weren't present in MLB08. Give us day game lighting and call it MLB 10. PLEASE.Comment

Yea, dynamic lighting for day games (sun/clouds/lighting/shadows shifting over the course of the day) would be a nice addition.
I think the fielding can be a little cleaner. The CPU does funny looking moonwalking animations sometimes, and I don't like the transition they make when they slow down on the run to go into their catching animation. Kind of takes away from the suspense.
The User/CPU errors can be cleaned up too (users don't make fielding errors, only throwing errors...and vice versa with the CPU).
The throwing meter for the User is useless and I think broken. It doesn't matter if you tap or hold the throw button. You have no control of the speed of the throw or the accuracy.Comment

1) Fielding...implement complete user control including throwing speeds, cutoff animations and stat based errors. 2) Collision detection...speaks for itself. Won't be true next-gen without this and is LONG overdue! 3) Real-time bat/ball physics...Random results are nice but I think this will wear thin after two full years and is why this engine NEEDS to be scrapped by the time MLB 11 is released. Its technically the same as the PS2 version albeit graphically (gorgeously) enhanced!!The Signature of New YorkComment

re: Put your "wishlist" things HERE (even though it's late in the game)
I'd like to see certain animations play out less robotically, and nail more details.
Like when a catcher wants the ball at a certain spot...why not make him actually hold his glove there? I mean I'd LOVE to pitch without anything on the screen except the ticker, but I can't because I need the big yellow circle to tell me where he wants the pitch. I know I don't have to listen to the catcher at all, but most of the time, he's calling for the exact pitch I'd throw in that situation anyway.
And when the ball is thrown back to the mound after every pitch, the animation the pitcher catches the ball with needs to be more organic. Not every pitcher turns all the way around to move 2 feet. Most just step backwards while catching the ball. And I'd like to see some emotion out the pitcher on missed balls and strikes, same way with the batters.
You hear Rex Hud saying "He's got to be losing his mind out there" and...there's no evidence of that at all.
And for the love of God, I'm tired of always having to spend my first two months or so with a RTTS pitcher having the manger make me work on my arm strength and accuracy and fielding reaction. I'm sorry, but a rookie pitcher needs to be focusing more on learning how to pitch, than being a competent fielder, especially since you're always doing relief work early on. Why isn't the goal system more dynamic?
If my pitcher has a very low BB/9 rating, why can't there be a goal to improve it, instead of having to deviate from where the game wants me to spend my points? Isn't that what real managers do? Get you to improve on your weaker areas, but at the same time prioritize what needs improvement? I go games at a time pitching until late in the 8th inning at times and might have to field the ball maybe, and never have to touch a single ball or really do anything except cover 1st.Comment
