Great Idea for RTTS Characters in 2010

dont know if anyone gave this idea.. but how about a way for a rtts character to continue after retirement.. and go through the process of becoming a manager.. managing minor leagues, and managing your way up.. cause we all know many many players come back to baseball to manage.. just a thought

Re: MLB 10 needs just three things for me to be happy

having a hard time with the search function for some reason and I am sure this has been asked, but I would love to see them add in the Single A teams, even if not the real teams at least that level of baseball so we can have even more players in the minor leagues.

re: Put your "wishlist" things HERE (even though it's late in the game)

I know this is a long shot for any years version. But I sure would love to be able to move a franchise somewhere. I loved the All Star Baseball games being able to run with an expansion team. Would actually love that again, but don't see MLB going for that anymore even if a developer went for it. But moving a team would be my second choice because I would love to be able to move the A's to San Jose like I think should happen in real life and hope it does. Knowing that isn;t likely to happen in a game either I would at least like to build a new generic stadium for my A's. Ever since the Raiders moved back to Oakland their stadium is terrible for baseball. Only thing I really dislike about my dynasty running with the A's.

Like I said I know all these would always be long shots, but it sure would be fun. The expansion teams in ASB were a blast to try and build up. So that type of thing with the depth of franchise mode in The Show would be beyond great to me.

            Franchise

I think in MLB 10 they really need to change Franchise, it is kind of getting stale and it would be exciting if they did something like NHL 10 did this year. Each team's GM has a personality and you have a reputation, better trade AI, each team has a plan (Rebuilders wont trade away youth, Contenders make trades to get better). The huge problem is that teams do even trades that don't really change their future that much, it would be nice if we could add cash, and more players to our trades.

            just my 2 cents

I agree. I also would like to have managerial preferences. Long ball, small ball, cautious, aggressive, how long you keep in starters etc.

                Re: Franchise

Stuff like this should go in this thread (which used to be titled "improving on perfection", as it's wishlist stuff.

The game is in development and devs are not reading through these threads, so we can at least keep it centralized just in case someone does wander in.

I have to agree with Bruin26 that running an expansion team would be awesome. I never played ASB before, but I think having an option to run an expansion team that includes everything from stadium construction to a team name would be fun.

Also, like in madden be able to move a team.

Wanted these two options in a baseball game for the longest time.

I didn't read this whole thread so it may have been mentioned before. But a few roster spots for Sept. call ups would be nice.

-Make an animation for pitchers checking base runners.
-Show the new position player in the field when we make a double-switch.
                          -Add real equipment
-Change the custom HR celebration music to Stadium specific instead of player specific. Then if you wish, you can go back and change a player’s HR celebration music if you want.
-Add more tailspin/English/slice on the ball. Add while the ball is in the air, as well as when it touches the ground and rolls. This should allow for more doubles down the line, etc.
-Make the CPU eat some balls. A lot of times, the CPU will still throw to a base when there isn’t a play. The CPU should just keep the ball, run it in, or toss it back in to the pitcher.
-Add child models to the crowd.
-Create a few options to the Mound Visit feature. Have the options for just sending the catcher over (which should be limitless). Sending the pitching coach. Or sending the manager.
-Add the ability to ask for time in the batter’s box, with the animation of stepping out, adjusting gloves, etc.
-Add the ability to make underhand tosses and small flips.
-In all pitching matchup screens/menus, show if they are a RHP or LHP.
-If there is a sudden injury to your pitcher and you are forced to take him out, whichever reliever you bring in next should get a full warmed up/ready bar.

                          Fielding
-Immediate control of my fielders when the ball is hit. There are times where I could have made a play on a foul ball but I couldn’t take immediate control of my fielders.
-Map a button for the catcher to take off his mask, one of the shoulder buttons most likely. Press and hold to take the mask off, and release the button when ready to throw the mask away from you (usually right before you catch a pop up).
-Map a button for a fielder to throw a retrieved foul ball into the stands.

                            @ Ghoste

No disrespect, but yo...are you plaing or simming MOST of your games?!?!?

the following things that you wrote, ARE in The Show '09...nooooo doubt about it...

-Show the new position player in the field when we make a double-switch. (IN THE GAME)

-Add more tailspin/English/slice on the ball. (More?? I've seen plenty, PARTICULARLY if you're playing a game that has high winds in the stadium)

-Add while the ball is in the air, as well as when it touches the ground and rolls.(IN THE GAME)

-This should allow for more doubles down the line, etc.(Wrong, what allows for more doubles down the line are a few combinations...but the two MAIN things are: the FIELDER REACTION and how YOU (the batter) time your swing on a pitch that's condusive to being pulled down the line or being shot down the line to the opposite field)

-Add the ability to make underhand tosses and small flips.
(IN THE GAME)...particularly if you TAKE FULL CONTROL of your defense (manual setting)

-In all pitching matchup screens/menus, show if they are a RHP or LHP. (IN THE GAME)

                            Fielding
-Immediate control of my fielders when the ball is hit. There are times where I could have made a play on a foul ball but I couldn’t take immediate control of my fielders.
(In the MANUAL SETTING, you can)

-Map a button for a fielder to throw a retrieved foul ball into the stands. (well, after the third out at times, players do it automatically)

I play every single one actually.

-Regarding the double switch, it may do it sometimes but not every time.
-The ball does tail/slice but I guess I would like to see it do more. A lot of balls don't make it to the corner of the outfield when they realistically should. A lot just stay along the foul line. And if the ball goes deeper into the corner, your chances to get to 2nd base should increase.
-There might be contextual small tosses and flips but I want a button to use. A lot of times the player will fire a throw even if I'm only 10 feet away. Pitchers fielding and throwing over to 1st base for example. Just looks awkward.
-Not every screen has the RHP/LHP listed. For example, the pitching match-up screen before you get to the lineup (just before entering the game) doesn't have it. The screen on the right when you hit R1/L1 doesn't have it either.
-There are some times when I won't be able to take control of my fielders or I get control a couple seconds into it. Mostly this happens on foul balls. I do have it on manual.
-Lastly, I know there is the 3rd out cutscene of the player throwing the ball into the stands. I was more talking about the foul balls that you didn't get to in time, if you can pick it up and throw it in the stands. Hopefully, they'll soon add ball boys/girls that will retrieve the foul balls and toss them.

I can tell you that most of this stuff is not even near the top of their priorities...they DO have more pressing matters....but anyway, I think it's the R2 button that you press to change which fielder takes control of a popup or any other 'close' fielding situation.

I already told you why, as you said, balls don't make it into the corner....
