Re: Is there a LIST of Features/Improvements that the developers have for next year?

Customization, customization, customization! Let me edit everything that is possible.

I am still hoping to one day see the return of create-a-team to baseball games, and to an even larger extent, expansion mode. Also more options for staff management (including editing). Add those, tighten up/tweak the additions to franchise mode, and clean up the bugs/glitches, and I'll never leave my house...ever.

EDIT: On a more realistic note, I wonder if we'll actually see those new player models this year?

      Oh please
      And of course, the create-the-stadium.

I would create a ballpark with 2 Green Monster xD

Why was the "confirmed things for MLB 10" thread merged with the "wishlist things for MLB 10" thread? They're two distinct topics even though newbies were posting wishlist things in both.

          re: Retired Players

I think someone mentioned previously that Mariano Rivera retired in their offseason (which seems like every year in the game), but I am at the retired players phase in my offseason, and the ONLY two Yankees who retired prior to my 2010 season, are Hideki Matsui and Jorge Posada.

Re: Put your "wishlist" things HERE (even though it's too late for The Show '10)

Does anyone have a confirmed list of changes or expected changes for 2010? I saw a couple of pages back the mention of the catcher's mask, but is that all we know so far?

            I'd like to see:

improved defense-it really needs to be spiced up
            better throwing motions (alligator arms)
better lighting for night games (day games beautiful, night games so so)
            better uniform textures
            progressive lighting for day games
            classic stadiums
more spring training and minor league venues
more walks out of the box without adjusting sliders
stadium specific music -- right now set for players makes hr music a pain

JTRaines92's MLB '10 The Show Official Wishlist

              - Shadows that change position during day games.
              - Bat/Ball Boys/Girls.
              - Fans leaning over the walls on foul balls. Maybe even the rare fan interference.
              - Rain Delays and lite showers during games.
              - Show players actually entering and exiting the dugout.
              - Full All Star Break, include Futures Game and HR Derby.
              - Have players in the dugout hang over the railing watching teammates bat. Hardly ever is everyone sitting along the bench in the dugout.
              - Fields look too clean and perfect. Needs to have random trash (bags) and paper blowing across the outfield grass, behind home plate and swirling in the wind.
              - Manager Ejections.
              - Catchers take their mask off when going for pop ups.
              - Ability to argue if you think there was a bad call instead of letting the CPU do it for you.
              - Ability to relocate and rebuild your stadium and start from scratch if things arena going good.
              - Have an option to put an actual birthday and age
              - Add every player in the MLBPA to the game.
              - Add A ball and rookie ball
              - Collisions in outfield.
              - Deeper and more realistic announcing.
              - Have the relievers and closers actually sit in the bullpen waiting for their call.
              - Players double clutching and slipping on grass.
              - Have the ability to charge the mound.

Nothing to do with gameplay, but....

How about if your team wins, and needs another team to lose to make it into the playoffs, a shot of a "television" showing the other game in progress.

Like when they show it on Sportscenter, the team gathers in the locker room to watch, then either celebrates or gets dejected.

Implement that. Would add to the immersion....

Proper rotation of interleague schedules, so you don't play the same interleague opponents year after year.

Couple of more gripes... I've already thoroughly expressed my displeasure with the throwing and swinging animations so I wont go into that again.

                      - In RTTS, make the defense better. I swear my AAA team has about 4 errors a game and cost me I dont know how many wins. I'm so sick of seeing this EVERY game. It's AAA, not little league.

                      - Also hitting physics need upgrading. I'm tired of seeing average hitters, take a slider outside and pull it for a HR to LF and also sick of seeing me jam hitters with a 98 mph fastball only to see them hit it out the opposite way. WTF is that?

                      - How about some new jerseys, with motion that doesn't look like they are painted on.

                      - New player models are a must. T-Rex arms gotta go and I wanna see players with some weight. Albert Pujols needs to be bigger, more muscular and Prince Fielder fatter looking. Everyone looks to thin.

                      - New running animations. Not only on the basepaths but in the field. On the basepaths, when a runner is rounding a base it doesn't really seem like they are rounding, but more like they are in the same animation and there body is just turning slowly towards second base. I wanna see body lean like they are really turning. And the same in the field. And in both areas, I want it to look like these players are actually making contact with the ground, it seems like when players run they are running on air and not planting their feet on the ground.

                      - More customization options in CAP. More realistic sunglasses..how many players wear aviators in the field??? This is a sim baseball game, save that for Bigs 3. Also add necklaces. And when are we going to be able to customize the fit of the jersey. Alot of players where baggy jerseys, but all the ones in the Show are skin tight.

                      - I also agree with some sort of expansion option in franchise mode. With Create-A-Team and CREATE-A-STADIUM!!!!!!!! This is the PS3 now...there is enough space and power to make this happen. It MVP had it 5 years ago, I think that it is possible now. Time to start thinking outside the box a little bit.

                      - Bring Home Run derby back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How does a baseball game NOT have HR Derby in it. And not only just as a standalone mode but make it available in Franchise and RTTS and can be added as an achievement for our created player.

                      That is all for now...

Fix the cpu baserunning so they are smarter on the basepaths. I had runners on 1st and 2nd and I hit a seeing eye single between the 3B and SS with 2 outs. I had to hold my runner at 3rd because there was no chance he would score. I checked the replay and the runner on 2nd didn't take his first full step until the ball was just about to the 3rd basemen. That should of been a run.

Just for the sake of it I would like to mention that now that the regular season is over I can officially say that this is the best sports game to date that I have ever played. I would just like to see them make this superb game even better and this is one thing I can think of that I think needs to be improved. Hats off to SCEA for all their hard work in making this truly accurate baseball sim.

                          1. New Player Models: Desperately need to change them. Dispose of T-Rex arms, better weight system and more fuller figures.

                          2. Better Jersey textures: They seem stuck on the players I want free flowing jerseys like the worst baseball game ever has lol

                          3. New Swinging Animations; Not much needed to say here but its awful...the back swing for one handed right handers is just horrendous. Also can we PLEASE get the japanese running swings that MVP had in 2005!!!!!!!!

                          4. New signature pitching animations: These need an overhaul....BIG TIME!!! 90% of the animations are horrible, awkward movment of body and arm motions. Weird releases....what is the mocap for if they look like that?? 2k9, the worst baseball game in the history of ever somehow has the best pitching animtions ive ever seen. If there is one page that needs to be taken from their book its that.

                          5. New throwing animations: No throws from the outfield look like they have any momentum behind them. Tired of seeing the awkward crow hop in place animation.

                          6. Collision Detection....Self Explanatory

                          7. Better sense of weight in players. When players run it seems like they are gliding on their feet and doesnt seem like they are hitting the ground. Diving looks weird because there is no reaction to the ground, they just glide across it.

                          8. GET MLB ON FOX!!!!!!! Imagine playing a playoff series and having the fox theme intro and Joe Buck and Tim McCarver in the booth. Current commentators HAVE TO GO!!! Its so bland, there is no sense of excitement.
100% agree with everything you said!

Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are anything but exciting, I dread watching my Yankees in the postseason just because I have to listen to their voices.

My biggest thing for next year's game is legitimate throwback jerseys (a lot of them this year are pretty bad/non-existent), more classic Stadiums, and perhaps legitimate Spring and Minor League parks. I know all of these are unlikely, but that's what would make it perfect for me.
