Re: Put your "wishlist" things HERE (even though it's too late for The Show '10)
I read someone wanted rain delays. Please DO NOT have rain delays!!!! That is a stupid idea. Play Ball.Comment

@ hitbombs: y not? It IS part of the game, ain't it? It can be worked into programming whereas obviously we aint gotta actually sit through an hour game pause (delay) LOL And u know what? If that is the case, so what? Then we will all find something to do.seriously, I can see it like this: like ASB, we'll have rain at the start of the game, or even starting let's say in the 3rd inning. I see the rain-related graphics being like ASB's was...water splashing up from the field when the ball hits, or when the players slosh around on the field. the sky gets moderately cloudy; lights in the stadium are on. The announcers wonder aloud if the contest will be able to continue--then an overlay comes up indicating the game will be held up because of rain. You then see an A, B or C box. You press the one of your choices. The three default options: a) 30 min. delay (starters are good to go) b) 1.5 hr delay (replacing your starter is suggested; if not continue at your own risk) c) rain out; system will rescheduleFor 2017...

Re: MLB The Show 10 Back of The Box Predictions
every year every sports game has the 4 or 5 back of the box features promoting the new game.
What features do you guys see on the back this year?
I'll say.
Dynamic Weather
MLB Network Integration
All New Player Tendencies/Moods
Enhanced Pitcher/Batter Interface
QB Vision Cone
LOL at the "QB Vision Cone". I do like Dynamic weather and hope it makes it in MLB 10. I also hope they have better collision detection as well.PSN: ckarlic

And I want to add, that with the rain scenario I mentioned, it WILL BE possible that randomly, games will rain from start to finish WITHOUT interruption. Think about it: it will add a sense of urgency...certainly the angst and pressure to AT LEAST get to 5 innings if you're ahead....or maybe you will feel a reason to slow it down..that's if your getting you *** handed to you early onFor 2017...

Re: MLB The Show 10 Back of The Box Predictions
I think that at some point, the R-stick throwing w/meter will have to be set in place. Better players would have a larger sweet spot, while lesser fielders would make the throw a bit more scary when the game is on the line. This would make defensive substitutions are real priority as opposed to it not really mattering.
Collision detection is something that must be implemented at some point. I would like to hear why it is that it has either been overlooked, or deemed unimportant for the programming.
World Series 1992 had ridiculous collision detection, and after the game got out of hand, running guys into one another in the field produced some of the most sickening and injury producing collisions of all time.
It could be implemented in such a way that there would finally need to be a "Call Off" button, and when a fielder got too close, or an impending collision were to occur, the controller would vibrate. This would make catching the ball tougher, add some strategy in positioning, and would require you to be aware of where your teammates are located when the play is made.
That said, I would certainly wait another year for the collision issue if we could see an analog throwing option for a more dynamic defensive game. As bad as 2k9 was for some things, that fielding with the stick, ala MVP 06's college game, made for some white-knuckle moments on that routine throw to first.

I've got a hunch they'll implement right stick pitching.Comment

Re: Put your "wishlist" things HERE (even though it's too late for The Show '10)
If you mean sitting for 30 extra minutes just watching the tv screen that is crazy. If the game says there will be a 30 min or whatever rain delay, and it is not actually that long in real life, maybe. But a 9 inning game takes long enough.Comment

@hitbombs: RE-read what I wrote....no one would be sitting for any length of time at all. I know there's a whole generation and then some, who have the patience of lunch meat (thank you Funkadelic), so that's why I suggested all of this delay stuff can be addressed by pressing on a color coded tabFor 2017...

thats why i was clearing it up. yes in that case, understandable. make you make some managerial decisions. as long as the game is not extended. 2k had rain delays a year or so ago, it was stupid. players sitting on the bench watching it rain.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 10 Back of The Box Predictions
Same thing we told everyone last year the collision detection that most want will most likely never be in The Show. It's not over looked or deemed unimportant it just doesn't work they way you think it would work. It either has to be on all the time or totally scripted events. Chris could turn on collision detection at any point its not the cats meow. You just end up with people running into each other all over the place and the entire game would need to be re-written for it to even be remotely plausible.OS Longtime Lurker - Extremely occasional OS Poster
