Man, you guys have some really great ideas...
the only thing i ask for is More and more animations, I feel like the animations got a bit stale towards the end of the season.

Lighting-Day game lighting looks great and would even better if the shadows crept in through out the end of the game.
Night games, however, look a bit weak.

More options as far as bat color, glove color, etc.

And the last I ask for...Getting the colors right on new Yankee Stadium...I know they couldnt get access to it last year during construction but no i think they can replicate it perfectly.
We play today, we win today, das it!-

First, let me preface this by saying 09 was the best sports game ever made. But there are small, realistically doable touches I'd love added:

Player tendencies for the cpu... pitching to Abreu, who will take pitches and works the count, should feel different than pitching to vlad, who will swing at a throw to first.

Team tendencies: LAA should bunt more than Boston.

rainouts: No, not making us sit there and watch nothing happen, but just a pop up that says game rained out. If we're home, we can pick either a doublheader for later in the year or a game on a mutual off day. If on road, we take what they give us. Either way, this would cause doubleheaders, forcing us to use spot starters, which is huge. It's a nice balance for guys who don't want injruies to cost good players weeks or months but still makes it so you don't get Beckett making 35 starts. The strategy of do I call up a kid or let my long reliever pitch that doubleheader game and what do I do with my rotation would be huge.
Maybe make it optional so those who hate the idea can avoid it.

CPU skipping fifth starter: especially early in the year. This with the doubleheaders will also help avoid the same pitching matchups over and over, which doesn't happen. I had Dice K vs. Pettitie like 4 times this year. In real life you miss pitchers and get different matchups.

Dynamic regular season crowd/broadcast atmosphere: I don't even know if this is possible, but here's what I mean. I had the Sox and had to sweep the final four against the Indians to stay in the WC race. I won the first 3 and had Beckett pitching the fourth. The building should have been CRAZY for that game. Instead, while it's a good crowd and well done, it still felt like one from July.
Also, I know they can't do exact commentary to match that situation, but they could have something generic about this game have "playoff implications," and have preset commentary give a tone accordingly.

1 game playoffs: I can't tell you how mad I was when I learned this wasn't there after that Cleveland series.

      Playoff mode: Self explanitory.

National teams: Maybe you can't do the WBC for legal reasons, but they can't stop you from putting the Americans together, the Dominicans together, etc. Is that not correct?

Dynamic dressing: I'm not one that needs to control the length of my socks, but too often guys have turtlenecks on in July. Make it match the weather.

CPU bullpen: You don't even need a cutscene, but have Matt tell us "a righty is warming for the Yankees" if nothing else.

Setting up the game: A quick cut scene to show before the game who's not available in each team's pen would be awesome.

Atmosphere: World Series patches, as said, are a little thing that would be cool.

MLB Network: A biggger task, maybe for 11. Adding highlights from other games, their graphics, things like that. Studio show recapping the trade deadline or before the playoffs. Or weekly like Madden.

Again, little things like these would add more realism and excitement to the best game ever.

One more, to the atmosphere point: I dunno if this is possible, but it would be cool if the scorebug denoted the playoffs like it does on tv.
Either above of below the score, it would say World Series Game 2.... or even just the round. ALCS next to the score. Even "MLB Playoffs" would be neat.

It should be like the way FOX did it.

MLB The Show also needs better overlays. Make them more like what you would see on a TV Broadcast like FOX Baseball for example.

I have a pretty minor one: Asian names for RTTS/created players. In my franchise I drafted a great Asian first baseman, but I can't even change his first name audio to names that are already in the game like Hideki or Daisuke, although this only applies to first names for some reason. I can make do with the Italian/Japanese switch hitting phenom Benito Murakami, but it would be a nice addition for the future!

Yeah I agree...^^^^^^ Presentation needs an overhaul. Needs to be brought to the next gen level.

EDIT- Was also thinking of some other things that need to be included in this game.

                      1. Collision Detection, I mean come on SCEA, its next gen. I remember having collison detection with fielders in Triple Play 96 on Sega. It's time to step it up.

                      2. Weather. NEED WEATHER!! Dynamic Weather at that. So if there is a chance of showers, have it start raining in the 3rd or 4th inning but continue play. Maybe a possibility for live weather updates if connected online. So you can have the actual weather that it is in the city at that time. I know TW09 had this.

                      3. More accessories for CAPs or for current players and better looking ones at that. I commend your efforts to FINALLY include sunglasses but most of them were unrealistic and crappy. How many people are ACTUALLY going to put aviators on their created player. Also give us the option for baggy tops like you do for baggy pants.

                      4. Also more realistic camera, for instance, I like to pitch from the pitcher view behind. But the batter, plate and meter look real far away. Take a page from 2k's book on this one, they have the best camera I have ever seen. The same goes for the fielding camera. Personally I think it is angled to high. It seems like its angled like you're in Nationals Park at all times. Maybe give us manual settings to put it the way we like it. Also I hate how when you hit a fly ball you don't see the ball. Like in real life, the camera should pan to show the ball flight but can still see the outfielder moving towards the ball. Obviously I dont expect this on pop ups behind the catcher, infield or shallow flies because those arent seen in real life either.

                      5. All animations speak for themselves. Batting stances for the most part are great but there are virtually no specific warm up swings when you are in the box, real generic and the swing animations are real bad, along with a majority of the pitching and throwing animations.

Since Im looking at things from the classic point of view more classic players wind ups and stances, more classic touches, like afros and legit looking long hair, no ear flap batting helmets. Also a on /off for retired numbers.

I want more stats and "situational stats"

I mean, avg hr rbi for each count and for each pitcher/batter duel.

The stats of the year between pitcher and batter.

The % of caught by a catcher.

Streak of games without an error.

That's one I haven't seen requested. I would LOVE some more in-depth stat tracking like this. The more the better.

That said, I believe Kolbe mentioned once (or more) that it was a trade-off....the reason for less stat-tracking (mainly historical) was that the memory was allocated to other aspects they felt were more pressing.

I don't know a lick about programming, so I'm not sure what the exact trade-off would be, but I also remember reading once that one of the main reasons a sports game takes up so much more memory than an RPG (Which you would think would take more, based on the details in those games), for example, is statistics. If you recall the memory card era, a dynasty/franchise save took the most space on your card.

I guess at some point we are going to eventually have to accept that there are going to be resource limitations on on stuff like this. The bright side is that the PS3 is a very capable system and these guys seem to do a good job of maximizing those resources and finding new ways to push the PS3 the more time they work on it.
