I did same thing. I'm a boston fan and have franchise with them of course. Wanted to do national league team and decided on the marlins.tuff division lot of young talent. Before settling with them my list of five consisted of, marlins, giants, reds, pirates, and nationals

Mariner's. Good rotation, decent amount of talent you can put on the block come trade deadline time (Beltre, Johjima, Ichiro, Bedard) And the #2 overall pick in the amateur draft your first year. Using Knight's rosters the computer seems to overvalue Beltre, Joh, and Ichiro so you can get some A prospects fairly easily.

I am 40-32 in my Franchise with the Oakland Athletics. I started off 1-11 on Veteran mode and was ready to quit the Franchise. It was terrible I couldnt hit consistently at all. I started to play some games online against other players and thats when I started getting better and winning games. About 10 games ago I went up to All Star difficulty. So far Im doing well. I swear though there are certain teams that you play and you begin to hate with a passion. I hate playing the Rays and Twins.

This is a information thread to ask questions, discuss ideas, etc. Fire away.

P.S. Please do not post your personal Franchise progression here. That info would go here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...all-dynasties/

                Franchise Discussion Thread

For me, I lost my Nats/Sox franchise (in brief: I was stupid) and decided to give it a go with the Cubs/Sox, as I never use the Cubbies and thought I'd take a stab at ending the "curse."

I'm just past the All-Star break and 42-48, good for 4th in the NL Central. Some moves I made were to pick up Pedro out of FA (5-8, but with a respectable 3.65 ERA) and I traded Bradley and a AA prospect to the Rays for Carl Crawford. After a VERY slow start, here's his line: .268 7 33. He's swiped 30/33 bases, good for 2nd in the NL (Behind Tavares who has 35).

Anyway, having a blast as the Cubbies! I'll probably switch to my Sox down the line and play with them more, but goal one is to help "lift the curse" for the Cubs.

Does anybody know if you must complete ALL of the goals with your franchise to extend your contract with the team after the said amount of years?

I'm a couple months into my Angel franchise and I have some completely unobtainable goals such as have three 20-game winners in one season, 2 MVP awards etc...

Is my run with the Angels done if I can't complete ALL of these goals, or will you be extended if you can achieve the majority of the goals?

                  Your help is much appreciated.

Re: MLB The Show 09: Franchise Question and Answer Thread.

I am currently 16-15 with the New York Mets in my franchise. I am playing on Hall of Fame with slider adjustments. I cannot seem to hit a lot of home runs my team leader has 7 and I am 31 games through. My team batting average is ridiculous at .304.

Oliver Perez went on the 60 day DL in the beginning of the season and his replacement John Neise recently joined him on the DL so I had to make some moves. I looked around the league and saw Dontrelle Willis was 1-4 with a 6.5 ERA. I knew I could change this, after working out a deal where I sent over Fernando Tatis (who was hitting very well) and Tim Redding, the Tigers approved. He is making his first start for the mets today

Quick question, is there any way for the CPU to offer me trades. I know I could switch the trades option to CPU, but I want to know who I'm getting in the deal.

Yes, I have been offered trades quite often. Just remember to update your trading block and needs.

Sometimes if you have a really good prospect you'll get more offers with them in the deal.

                              are you referring to marketing?

If so, they run until you switch them to something/someone else.

Ex: If on the radio you're marketing Sluggers...it will remain sluggers and the same player until you switch it up. I change mine every Sunday(in the game) and rotate amongst the 4 media outlets.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

How do I earn income for my team? It seems I'm ranked 30th in the league and I'm almost 20 million below every other team in the league. I haven't had a home game yet, so I'm sure that's part of it.

But, are there things I should be doing that will bring in more dollars to my team?
