Re: MLB The Show 09: Franchise Question and Answer Thread.
Just started my Royals franchise. I simmed the first year, went to FA and made a terrific team:
1 - LF - C. Crawford
2 - CF - C. Crisp
3 - RF - A. Gonzales (Previously J. Guillen just traded to SD for A. Gonzales and a B SS prospect)
4 - 1B - J. Votto
5 - C - V. Martinez
6 - DH - D. De Jesus
7 - 3B - A. Britt (Drafted last year)
8 - 2B - A. Iwamura
9 - SS - M. Aviles
SP:
1 - Z. Greinke
2 - J. Beckett
3 - C. Lee
4 - G. Meche
5 - L. Hochevar
I'm currently 3rd in the AL Central with a 7-5 record. (Detroit and Chicago began with a 9-1 record!)
That's pretty unrealistic but very fun to play with.
But there is one thing i don't understand: fatigue!
I bought the team-bus for transportation but it seems it doesn't have any impact on the player's fatigue.
In the 08 version that was already an issue for me.
How do you do guys?Comment

The fatigue is pretty realistic IMO. Up their durability ratings if you don't like it. And the team bus is like the second worst transportation mode haha. I use the First Class flight.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 09: Franchise Question and Answer Thread.
Not at all new to The Show, but I'm new to attempting full roster control in a franchise.
I set up my A's franchise using the updated Knight's version 5 rosters in the Roster Vault & sim'd thru Spring Training so far. When I tried to update some player movements outside of my team, it won't let me do anything other than edit the player. I'm guessing I missed something or have an incorrect setting in my initial franchise set up(?). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Last edited by TerryP; 07-07-2009, 04:13 PM.Comment

I think you have to switch to the team you want to control (R2 and L2)Not at all new to The Show, but I'm new to attempting full roster control in a franchise.

Thanks for the response! I did figure that out on my own, but once I do select a player on another team that I want to move, the only option it gives is Edit Player.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 09: Franchise Question and Answer Thread.
You'll need to turn on CPU Roster Control. I'm not sure if you can do that after you've started the franchise though. You should check for it.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 09: Franchise Question and Answer Thread.
If, at the beginning you didn't select "CPU Roster Control-ON" you are out of luck, I'm afraid, as you can't change it once your franchise has begun (a choice I hope they reconsider in the future).
If you did happen to select it early, there's a separate area to make such changes other than the "Manage Roster" screen where you can edit ratings. Under the "Roster Moves" tab it should appear at the bottom as "CPU Roster Control" it will function exactly like the roster control in the front end:

Re: MLB The Show 09: Franchise Question and Answer Thread.
I have a random question.
Is there any downside to just ending Spring Training instead of simulating through it? Players not developing or anything like that?
THanks in advance!Comment
