Re: How Young Are You?
70 and a lurker. I dont post much but love this game. I've been playing baseball games since the 40s. I started even before Ethan Allen's original All Star Baseball game, played with spinners with batting disks for each player. I'm so glad I am still around to enjoy The Show.
Billy Crystal made a movie about the year I was born of the Yankees. Allstar Baseball, Bobby Hull Ice Hockey with the pull/push rods, and Electric Football were my gaming passions as a kid until, I discovered Intellivision sports games in 1983 in the college dorms. From there I got into computer gaming starting with Commodore 64 and the original Hardball, and then the Amiga with Earl Weaver Baseball, a ground breaking sports game, way ahead of its time. My baseball teammates in the Cubs organization really liked that one in the late '80s. Spring Training '88 I had it setup in my hotel room in Mesa, and I couldnt keep the guys out. Then onto the consoles about 1992 with the Genesis, which utilized the same CPU as the Amiga. Favorites baseball games since then have been Tony LaRussa and Oldtime Baseball, World Series Baseball, High Heat PC, MVP 05 PC, then MLB 2K7, and onto The Show the last 3 years. My other gaming passion started last year with Battlefield 1943 and now BF Bad Company 2. Awesome games! Check em out.Comment
