    Re: How Young Are You?

Turned 40 in January. I have been gaming since the early 80's...Married 18 years, 2 daughters. My wife thinks I'm nuts.

Texas Instruments 99/4 (I think), Commodore 64, Atari 2600, Intellivision etc..

I 'graduated' to Earl Weaver baseball on my first real PC and I've been playing baseball games ever since.

Also, since some of you mentioned your wives being cool with it. I just got the game today and had little bit of time to check it out before the kids took over the TV to watch smackdown. Anyway, played an exhibiton game where I only got in 3 or 4 innings

LOL...talk about memories! I am 43 and had Intellivison baseball back in 1980 when I was 14. What's funny is we thought that was JUST AS IMPRESSIVE as the Show '10 is to current teens. Remember, the thought of actually playing a game on a TV was still a new concept back in the late 70s. To be able to play a video baseball game IN COLOR with a full compliment of NINE men on the field was truly spectacular 30 years ago. (For comparison, the Atari baseball game that was out at the same time was basicially monochrome and only had five or six players on the field.)

When I show my 14 year old son YouTube videos of Intellivision games, he laughs and says, "How could you guys even want to play those WHACK games?!" I laugh back and simply state that in 30 years, HIS children will look at games like the Show '10 and say the EXACT SAME THING to him!

Anyone remember Intellivision? I remember THIS:

Funny thing about this game was that there were not fly balls per se - even on balls hit to the "outfielders" you had to try and throw the guy out at first base (you could NOT simply move the field over the blip that was the ball and record an out, you HAD to make the throw). Also, If there was a runner on 3rd base and two outs, even if you threw the batter out at first base to end the inning before the man on third scored, the run counted. That used to drive me NUTS!!!!

Great game in a era LONG gone. My friends used to come over and we'd have all day tournaments lol.

37 and I'm glad the games were not this good back when I was a kidor I would have never went outside, left the house and played real sports and would have been a 250 lb 10 year old; then I might never have got layed or married. Back then all you could only only play atari 2600 for so long not like todays games they are so addictive.

in all seriousness, 35 here. Spent many a hour tuning the High Heat series for god knows how many years. Been gaming since Atari days. Pinnacle in my opinion was Earl Weaver and High Heat in later years.

Show is a great game though, just missing something i cant put a finger on.
