I didn't mean to suggest you were flown out there and treated like a high roller by SCEA. I was just going by what Russell said - that a very limited number of people would be allowed to take video. You said yourself you had to get approval to post the vids on youtube, so I assume there was also some sort of process (or invite) to get you in there with your camcorder and playing with Russ. And I do appreciate everything you did, awesome vids and info.

There's something you guys are missing. My feeling regarding home runs in '09 is that it's just anti-climatic. Let's suppose they can find a camera angle this year in Home Run Derby that really makes you stand up and say "YES!!!" when a home run is hit. Correct me if I'm wrong but can't this also be used in the main game as well? A custom cam that comes up when a dinger is hit would really add some pop to the game. Home runs are what it's all about, the greatest moment in baseball so I say spend a little time on this and get it right.

I agree.. Nothing is worse than hitting a HR at Fenway over the Monster and have the camera follow the shadow of the ball and then focus in on the wall. Kind of sucks. I am praying deep fly balls which stay in play, borderline HRs and no doubters will have a camera angle where we can see the flight of the ball

        Swaldo,

Understand, but I think what has happened is some guys are posting like this is set in stone and they are disappointed about it, just saying let's wait and see. There's still a ways to go with this thing yet.

Well said. I've been completely on-board in thinking this for 2-3 yrs now, but every year we get the same 3 fielding cams. I'll get off my CAM hopes since its out there now, and its beating a dead horse. This forum shouldn't be all doom and gloom. The game is still fun and great, it could just be that much more for a few of us ball-flight lovers. "Ball-flight lovers" is something I thought I would never type in my life. Yikes.

Nobody is saying they aren't working hard and/or making tweaks. Of course they are. Of course its not a final build. I would LOVE to be wrong in thinking that we won't suddenly get great cameras added. Everything in the game is looking great. Can't wait.

Ha, let's start a Ball Flight Lovers club and get a petition going for better flying balls.

And I hear you Jim, I can't possibly say any more on this. I just want friggin' March to be here already.

I agree with you 100% on having a camera to follow the balls flight and show the detail of where it lands. I remember playing Tommy Lasorda Baseball in the 90"s and loving it when my player would hit a homerun into the parking lot full of cars. We need this in today's game. We should start a thread specifically stating this on the main page so SCEA can take notice. I want to see my homeruns land in Mcovey Cove and the water splash when it lands. Now if that isn't a gratifying hit I don't know what is. Anything that adds excitement to the game is a very good thing.

I live here in Vegas. I had plans to try and attend CES. Then I heard our local news say, "This event is NOT open to the public".....

                      (Wonders how DMB got in?)

                      kidding.......

so you felt that homeruns in '09 were anti-climatic and in an effort to fix that problem, you want a special homerun camera to take effect when a homerun is hit?
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

And watch all the little boats go after the ball? Now that would be amazing!
