i cant believe how unenthusiastic you guys are about this idea. for me, create-a-stadium would be the single greatest improvement to the game.

being able to design the field dimensions, the general architecture of the stadium, and the surrounding area (suburbs, beach, downtown, etc.) is a dream come true.

for those of us that would love these new features, the last thing we need is for SCEA to come in here and see all this apathy about the idea. you're killin' me!

It's a good idea, but modes like these never satisfy players in the end. You are limited by certain options in design, placement, scene, and a whole bunch of other things. I would welcome it if it was in the game, but it's not a gamebreaker for me.

Hmm. I could have sworn I had new places to play from one year to the next with new NL adversaries. Did I imagine it?

I think you played the same division every year....maybe the schedule itself rotated...

Are you getting confused? The topic is relocating a team, While I'm not a fan of the idea I would love a stadium builder. Sure the two go hand in hand if you relocate, but a stadium builder on it's own would be a welcome addition for many people here

As long as it's an option that can be turned off, I have no issues. I just don't want it to be forced onto me and then after a few years in a franchise have no teams in the same cities or with the same names.

They should just have the same concept Madden had a few years back with owner mode. You could build a stadium without relocating. ASB had the ability to create a team. MVP had the same idea as Madden (hence EA) in you could build a stadium without having to relocate if they had something similar to any of these 3 other games I would be happy with that!

EDIT: Or they could do what ASB had with the Future team stadiums that is an option. Madden had the CPU controlled teams build new stadiums for the second year in in owner mode. If they could implement that, that would be cool too.

I think it was only 2005....which makes your point even more "dramatic".

                    I'd love it...and use it...A LOT!

I'd revive my Brooklyn Outlaws franchise!!

Nope, it definitely was in 04 (that was the one with the old-timey menus and "Wrigley Field" from The Natural playing in the background).

I loved the expansion feature, and would love even a relocation feature like the OP mentioned as a stepping stone of sorts.

On a side note, it's funny you mentioned the Outlaws because I believe that was the other team randomly selected (though not from Brooklyn in mine..New Mexico I think) when my Carolina Woodpeckers broke into the league in the brand new Drubel County Stadium (led by the revided bat of one David Justice)!

I also loved the concept stadiums that certain teams could get at some point in a franchise. I really dug the "New Fenway" that had added a nice set of upper decks in RF.

Sorry, I got sidetracked by nostalgia!

I'm not entirely sure that the rotating schedule is even going to be in effect in 2010. I know the Yankees have opponents from all three N.L. divisions this season (Mets, Phillies, Astros, Dodgers, Diamondbacks).

I think being able to build a new stadium for your team would be a cool addition.

                          yes.
                          I got confused.

but for what it's worth, my feelings about relocation are similar.
I would loooovee to take the Marlins roster, become the Portland Redwoods and customize a classic amber/gray uniform.

I can already see Hanley Ramirez striding around in his Redwoods uni with my custom stadium glistening in the background.

                          oh to dream

(by the way, are there even a significant amount of redwoods near Portland?)

If it was gonna happen I would like to see a totally customizable league, you pick the cities, create your own leagues, divisions, I would love to recreate the old NL East. I believe it was FPS Baseball that had this or something similar.

agree. being able to have an OPTION to rebuild a stadium and not relocate would be a nice feature. and as someone else mentioned, this wouldnt be forced upon you but rather just something that could be used to mix things up a bit. this is also pretty relevant to the state of MLB with quite a few teams having gotten new stadiums or planning/building ones within the next few years. its kind of a turn-off to see a team like the twins still playing in the metrodome in 2011 even tho they would have moved in to target field on 2010. a stadium builder would at least make it possible to represent a new stadium, even if it didnt match the exact one.

lol jk I'm glad to see my ideas are being recognized. I would love to see this implemented into the game, it would make it that much more fun, especially if it was anywhere near what it's like in Madden.
