Players Like Brendon Donnelly, and Kevin Millar are Scabs not Ben Sheets. I only asked this question cause players Like Jeff Weaver had to be created even though they had major league experience but Weaver didn't make in the game right out of the box cause he played in the Minores in 2008. Hopefully that made some sense. (there were many players missing in the game from the get go)
Oops, I was thinking of Rick Reed. I always get them confused, I don't know why. Name is probably similar but not. LOL.

LOL it's cool man. When you said that I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? LOL, But now you know who I am talking about so it's cool. I was just wondering if he'll be in the FA list when the game ships unless he signs with a team before then.

I would assume he will be in the FA list if he doesn't sign before the end of this month. But Sony will have him in the proper team with their first roster update more than likely.

Yeah i hope you are right but that Jeff Weaver example I used is what I am afraid will happen to Sheets since he didn't play last year. We'll see what happens it isn't a big deal if I had to create him I would I just hope we have teh ability to edit service time this year. Keeping my fingers crossed.

1- Are Retractable Roofs working?? Such as an option closed or open. In Phoenix it is mostly used for heat.

2-Does the show have new music/can you make your own music for the opening theme and lineup theme?

3-Is there a your franchise scores and around the league ticker? Kind of like NFL 2K5 had.

4-Do they still have the newspaper format? or is there a new mlb.com thing like mlb 2k9 had.

5-Finally is there other news on the newspaper or what ever they have in on the front franchise thing? Like huge trades and other info instead of just scores?

Thanks and sorry if these questions have been asked before.Cant wait for march!

Can you now turn off the scrolling billboard adds in the background when using the outfield & pitcher views or did they at least remove the adds with solid white backgrounds to prevent the ball from blending into the background ??

The white billboard adds are a huge problem in some stadiums and make it close to impossible to see the ball off a left handed pitcher

*Upload player pitcures (we use unlicensed music)

*Being able to use all keyboard functions during player edit, (dash/space)

*Being able to edit player tenure (Millar & created players are always rookies)

*Edit existing players (sorry EA don't like the bookmarks)

                    *Player name search engine

*Ability to record names for audio playback (not all names in the database)

*Include all players with time spent in MLB (load up AAA,AA)

*Easier team control between affiliations (MLB,AAA,AA 40 man roster setups)

                    *Historical add-ons (stadiums, players, uni's)

*Create a team (just in case the Pirates leave for Cali in the middle of the night)

*On field contact (dp breakups/outfiled collisions)

                    Thanks for looking out

1.) Is it harder to throw strikes (human)?

2.) Are statistics stored for players season to season?

3.) Do we have more "control" of our fielders movement (less anim. taking over)?

4.) Is the cpu roster AI better regarding lineups, call-ups, trading, f/a signings?

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions

While I think MLB the Show is one of the greatest sports games ever made, I kind of thought that all the fielders lacked variety and distinction in their ratings. For example I had guys like Luis Castillo making these charging ballet style scoops and throws on the run in one graceful action time after time....Or I have him do the one knee slide in the hole backhand successfully much too often

Will this year bring a bit more realistic instances of these kinds of plays whereas only the elite players will perform these as frequently and as fluidly?

And, will a player range, reaction, and quickness ratings play more of a role in giving more of a variety of results in the field so fielders start to demonstrate more of their unique abilities?

I thought this was one area in the game that could have used a bit more organic and dynamic improvement.

Oh and since this thread is for the designers, I think this is a good list of additions for the game I'd like to see added

                          +ADD a HISTORY section:
As you complete each season in your franchise, you create pages of history, stats, boxscores, Playoff scores, League leaders, Final Standings, etc that can be easily referenced and looked up by season in a neatly organized section of the game called HISTORY or ALMANAC. This way you can always look back and reference information from previous seasons. This is critical in baseball and gives true depth to a FRANCHISE MODE

                          +ADD an IMPORT FRANCHISE feature:
We all have probablly cursed this under our breath many times not only in MLB the Show but in ever single Sports video game, "Damn it, now I gotta start my Franchise all over again...!" Why should upgrading to a newer version of a Sports game force you to start the work that you've done before all over again??....It shouldn't! Would you accept having to get a new cell phone number just because you bought a new phone? In fact, it would be in a companies best interest to add this feature. Im sure there are a certain percentage of sales LOST every year because people are content with their existing franchise progress and dont want to start all over.

+ADD USER CREATED TEAMS to Franchise Mode:
This would be just cool. Alot of people would like the ability to merge their fictitious team creations with real life players and teams and create WHAT IF Scenario Franchises!

                          +ADD Physics Based COLLISION MODELS:
The close tag is one of the most exciting aspects of baseball. In MLB, its rather dull and lacks variety. This new feature would allow for more realistic slides, collisions, take out slides and dynamic plays at the bag and at the plate. This would also allow for your occasional fielder collisions due to miscommunications

                          +ADD a STADIUM CREATOR:
Anyone old enough to remember the days of Earl Weaver Baseball?....How freakin cool was it to be able to build your own ballpark? Think about it. Madden has offered this feature for a few years now but in football its really just an aesthetic reward because it adds no real value to the actual gameplay. But in baseball, Ball park dimensions can literally change the dynamics of an entire team!...(see the NY Mets of 2009 as a horrific example)

+ADD Dynamic and Individual AI MANAGERS:
Why with a game THIS deep and advanced do we have to settle for one AI style manager making decisions for every single team in your Franchise? We all know how diverse each managers philosophies and priorities are in the MLB, why not flesh this out further and represent it in the game?

I couldn't have said it better myself. Great question. I really hope fielding got the much needed love it deserves. It's the one glaring weakness to the game. I'm not sure if this is the right word of not but, it feels to "programmed" and predetermained. So I guess my question is this, does it feel as you (the user) have more control of your defensive actions and can you tell the difference between Tori Hunter and Vlad Guererro when it comes to reaction time and range?

Fielding will be a major priority for me. I will be putting it through its paces, don't worry!
