    Re: MLB 10: The Speculation

I think houtz is the only one that remotely knows me, and he's right, I'd play online only if the mode worked well enough. I want solid gameplay, and in an offline mode I want realistic stats (leaderboards shouldn't have 10+ people chasing .400 for example).

I get that some of you are super passionate and love this game (and no one more than knight), but come on knight, I acknowledged one of the new modes (hr derby) as an example. I wasn't trying to imply that was the ONLY new feature. For me, it's just an example that most of the new additions I know of won't make me enjoy the game anymore. I already listed the things I've read that I DO like, and I'd love to hear more about how the gameplay will provide a better and more accurate game of baseball.

Like last year they introduced the more realistic routes to the ball in the outfield in an effort to produce more realistic extra base hits. This seemed like a big upgrade towards a more realistic sim...but all I've heard this year is that there will be high choppers and the ball won't die so fast in the outfield grass. Who knows, maybe that will make it seem way more realistic, but I'll just have to wait and see.

I have no doubt The Show '10 will be the best baseball game EVER. My only point was that I feel like I can skip this year and I won't be missing much (for me at least), and that's the first time I've felt that way. If you feel different, that's absolutely OK.

I think we all missed the biggest part of what Russell said, the Demo is an early build and from before CES.

LOL, that means that there be so many demo bug threads and such i may just avoid forums all together.

The Game is GOLD, it can only be better i dont need a demo to prove that.

Great Job as always Russell and the SCEA Team, thanks for all the information you have given us.

There is no doubt The Show is in the drivers seat as the leader in the baseball game sales department. I am not sure if that would influence when to release info, demo, etc.

But anyone who is a member of OS, has received plenty of hands on feedback, pics and vids. The SCEA|OS community team event provided an early, in depth capsule of The Show and answered all the questions they could. Hard to beat that for info.

          Re: MLB 10: The Speculation

I hope this isn't construed as being out of line but I would like to share my point of view as well. First let me say I am not complaining or asking for anything and I don't feel that we are entitled to anything.

I am a single father of a 14 year old girl and we both love baseball both in game and real formats. This has been our first time with the show in 09 and we love it and would be happy with it forever. I am 5 years in my RTTS and my daughter is in year 3. We also have our own season mode where we pick random teams every week and play against each other. Baseball is something we share and use to spend time together.

We are both very excited about The Show 10. Being on a budget as all single parents are we have to be picky about what we buy. That being said in this day of pre order bonus's we are really excited about the classic stadiums and we never pre order anything unless we get something out of it. But we also don't buy anything without seeing reviews from trust worthy sites and people like the folks on OS.

So what I am saying is that a lack of information which I don't feel we have here can keep some buyer's from picking up some sports titles as well as other games. I try to make informed purchases and not rush blindly into things that we regret later. We will be getting 10 and I believe that it is a well researched and informed purchase.

I interpreted his post that he had enough information presented in front of him to make a commitment on a purchase, no?

                  Re: MLB 10: The Speculation

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Some of you really need to calm down. If you want to play the demo so bad, go play MLB 09. I have a backlog of old games to hold me over since the demo isn't out yet.

This game is just a roster update with a homerun derby thrown in? Did I just read that? That is a complete insult to the guys at SCEA who just spent thousands of hours, 6-7 day work weeks, 12 hours plus a day, doing the best job possible to create the ultimate baseball sim. If you think it is just a roster update than maybe you should stop posting and not buy the game.

Like others have mentioned, 15 plus years ago before the internet really took off, all we had were a couple of videogame magazines. EGM, Gamepro, Nintendo Power and Game Informer. They all posted the same exact photos. A hit title would get a 4 page preview and maybe a 2 page review. Sports titles usually had a 1 page preview and a 1 page review. Sometimes a half page review. It wasn't until the PSX era when some magazines would come with an extras cd where you could play a demo or watch a video. Those were very limited.

This forum and the people on it helped us immensely. Thanks to you all and I hope some of you will play online with us in the future.

As far as K_Gun's post on the first page....

I'm a bit worried that no one responded to this. It's not something we've heard a whole lot about and it'd be a huge let down if for some reason this was true.

Regardless, I'm getting the game next weekend and waiting very anxiously for it to come out. I haven't been this excited for a game EVER
Houtz!!!!! Lol. You have to read man, I responded to this. Yeah, this lack of the sig styles is pissing me off. Just in the top 5 catchers and top 5 first baseman previews, I saw multiple guys that need biiiiiggggggg stance re-hauls, just like they needed last year, because it's the same damn stance. In those two previews alone, the players that stilll need new stances were Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder, to some extent Ryan Howard, they need to make sure Tex has a two handed follow through only when he's batting right handed, and a one handed follow through when he bats left (last year it was two handed from both sides on the game), from the catchers, there's McCann and Yadi. Out of ten freaking players, There's 4 that need big stance overhauls, one that needs to be tweaked with feet positioning and such, and one that needs a fixed follow through. If those were from the final build, and all those guys have the same stances as last year, espiciallyyyyyy Albert, I'm going to be pissed!!!!!!!

Most people couldn't tell the difference between hand and foot placement, two handed follow through, fixing Howard's stance "to some extent", etc., if you paid them. So they are delaying this because there are people at OS who will be, as you say "pissed!!!!!"?

We already have the answer from Jason.

It's not just that little stuff. I'm just pissed that Pujols' stance is still horribly wrong. Considering I watch im play all the time, and I really want it to be authentic when I play the gaem, it justs frustrates me to no end on how his stance looks. Jim, if you have the time, can you post the link to Jason's answer? I haven't seen it yet, so I'm not sure what thread it's in.

Real Time Presentation...if your looking for a realistic baseball experience, it doesn't get better than the implementation of this. This is the biggest feature for me. The other game did this last year and it's one of the reasons why I kept playing both games. I can't wait to see what the SCEA team was able to do with RTP. Maybe some of you folks dont understand exactly what RTP means, other wise you wouldnt be griping. This feature alone was a game seller for me.

Same here. If it wasn't for OS I would have never broke down and bought a PS3 last year for the show. Best money I ever spent because the show is like no other sports game out there. Basketball is my first love but this baseball game gets me the most excited about a sports game. SCEA seem to be the only company than knows how to truely make a sports title.
