Re: Real-Time Presentation clarification
Just the thread I was looking for! I think Im gonna go with RTP w/ Replay... But then again, I will lose the cutscene where after half inning, pitcher goes to the dug out.. I simply love love that cut scene. However, I'm tired of the old cut-scenes so I think I might be ok...OK, so I've seen numerous questions/concerns about RTP this year, how it works, etc (I've had the same inquiries as well). Well, I just had to get it all straightened out, so today I went to Best Buy (again, lol), and delved into all the menus (main screen and in-game), and I know have definitive answers on what exactly each presentation mode does and doesn't do. Hopefully this helps everyone out a little... here goes:
Like I said, if you go to the IN-GAME menu, it actually explains it a lot better.
1. Broadcast (default): This is the old presentation we've all come to know and love... but there IS a twist! It STILL incorporates RTP (you'll have the full, lively, dugouts, bullpens etc), the difference is, instead of during downtime getting camera shots of players going back to position, etc, you'll get some of the old classic cut scenes that SCEA has spent so many years perfecting. In fact, the cut scenes are the majority of what you WILL see, HOWEVER, there are times they will still throw in a little spice of RTP. An example would be, at the end of a couple innings, I got a nice arial shot of players jogging back to their dugout and taking the stairs down INTO the dugout. IMO, THIS is my favorite presentation, as we get the best of both worlds: Real Time presentation PLUS all of those cool cut scenes (mascots, players chatting, the first pounds after home runs, etc). And yes, you still have all your instant replays as well.
2. R-T/w Replays: This is exactly as you would think. You get the all new RTP (no cut scenes), BUT you'll still get instant replays and end of inning analysis (IE SCEA's new Show-Motion feature). For all of you strictly RTP guys who still want some of the bells and whistles of a real broadcast, this is probably the perfect mode for you. The only downside is you lose a lot of those extra details that were included in cutscenes... and you have to watch your player rounding the bases holding his helmet after every home run, lol (something that is NOT in Broadcast mode).
3. Real-Time: This is the easiest to explain. It's strictly Real-Time... ALL the time. After every play, the camera simply follows the players as they go back to their positions, get ready for the next play, etc. It does a great job, obviously, in making you feel like you're at the park, as nothing is pre-rendered, and you're seeing it all as it actually happens. The downside? You don't get ANY instant replays or, of course, replay analysis... again, EVERYTHING is Real-Time... always. And, just to make it clear, you'll always get that holding your helmet home run trot
So there ya go fellas. I'm hoping this clears the air for RTP, as I know many (myself included), have had tons of questions. RTP is part of the game NO MATTER WHICH PRESENTATION YOU CHOOSE, the presentation simply changes how this new feature is presented.
Have fun Tuesday!

Re: Real-Time Presentation clarification
so, you live with the white flashes before/after cutscenes? i'm just trying to get an idea of what setting(s) will take all the "white flashes" away. i hate those.Last edited by brrmikey; 03-01-2010, 12:42 PM.Comment

Re: Real-Time Presentation clarification
Different camera angles have a way of making the whole game experience fresh. For you guys who played HH and MVP on the PC and modified your camera files, understand how that can make a huge difference.
I have had the game since Saturday. Here is the way I am looking at RTP/WRP or Broadcast. I will be alternating the camera views for each series I play. Your games take on a 'new' feeling when you switch between the broadcast options.
The bottom line is you have more choices this year, enjoy it!!!

Re: Real-Time Presentation clarification
For those that have the game, when do we get stat overlays? Is it only with broadcast? Do we get any with RTP w/ replays? I want to see the stat overlays and info, but I'd also like to get some of the RTP element. Maybe I'll change back and forth.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Re: Real-Time Presentation clarification
I don't know if I'll be annoyed with that yet. Played 3 games yesterday with 0 home runs by either team.
Until I become annoyed by that, though, I am absolutely in love with RTP/Replays.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn
