Yeah, and playing against Carpenter didn't help. I just got a game in with Pirates at Dodgers(me) and no problem with the longball. I popped my cherry with Manny and no cutscene, but he did do his arms thing which I love. He hit another one a couple of innings later, and Ethier hit a 3-run shot to break a 3-3 tie in the 7th. So it's realistic, the METROPOLITANS can't hit hahaha Speaking of which, they're on...

Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread

Was playing my first, hurredly put together RttS game. I was up with runners at 1st and 2nd and 1 out. My goal was to drive the run in. I didn't drive the run in as I grounded slowly to the shortstop who threw to 2nd for the force (i beat out the relay), but instead of giving me negative points it gave me positive 15 for getting a positive result. (moving the runner to 3rd. not sure how it's so positive with 2 outs, but whatever). I still thought it was cool that I didn't get negative points becasue I didn't do an insanely difficult task.

However, it got better. The next guy up hits a single to right and I start running. I LOVE how the little cursor comes up on the screen telling you which direction to press your stick in order to move forward. I start running after fumbling with it for a little bit and try to go from 1st to 3rd. I am gunned out by a mile at 3rd base for the 3rd out. The 3rd base coach just stands there shaking his head. At the end of the game, I got -10 points for making the 3rd out at 3rd base. Freaking awesome!

I hit a foul ball off my shine and the player dropped to the ground in pain.

Omir Santos of all people reaching on a infield hit when he smashed one that, originally I thought hit off the pitcher, but on replay hit the pitching rubber on the fly and bounce back right by the plate..

Foul-tipped a fastball straight behind and down to clank the Umpire on the ankle.... he went down like a sack of spuds, which was quite funny. Then (something I assume is totally coincidental) the next pitch he gives a 3rd strike looking on something way out of the zone (honest).

Another nicety was when playing in Home Run Derby mode, I was using Ken Griffey Jr and the commentary noted that he had won the event 3 times previously when he first came to bat.

Don't know if these have been posted or seen but, I played my first game earlier today. Two things that caught my attention (videos attached; please forgive me as I didn't have much time to save the replays and angles might not be that good):

Nick Johnson lost his balance trying to stop at Second Base:<object height="344" width="425">

Phillies catcher lost track of the ball on a wild pitch (Yes, I hacked at it ):<object height="344" width="425">

I've scorched a few balls into the gap and even beat the CF with a drive to the wall with Banks, but haven't gone yard yet.

It's nice to see OF'ers get burned this year.

And the 3-6-3 double play is sweet.

I was hoping that would be taken out this year. It happened a few times last year, and I got screwed a couple of times when it went straight to the catcher, who then threw me out.

I really like how they added this year when you bring in a Relief Pitcher you get up to 8 warm up tosses to get used to his delivery
