Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread

A few of the little things I saw have been mentioned already:

    - The wind blowing in from RF at AT&T
    - The "_______ will you marry me?" on the LED boards between innings
    - The "willing it fair" scene... LOL, I thought the CPU had went yard on me but it hooked foul.
    - The sounds, there are tons of new stadium sounds

    I did also see:

    - Well actually, I 'heard' the ball splash into McCovey Cove @ AT&T
    - Saw a drop-down showing Puljols BA on 3-2 counts
    - Also, I love the way the catchers knock down pitches in the dirt!

New throwing motions look fantastic, loving the new throwing meter as well.

Day lighting is insane... the cloud cover on the field is remarkable as well. Something much needed to break up the grind of 162 games... different cloud patterns as well as overcast skies should give a new look each and every game.

Played a game last night and I was the Twins at Target Field and I reached for a pitch and slapped it down the line. The announcers said something like, "He reached for it there, this is the State of Hockey, so it was more like a slapshot."

I was playing the Mariners last night with the Padres and was using Chris Young and Ichiro came up to bat and they talked about the history between the two and Ichiro's inside the park HR off Young in the all star game. Anyone face the Cubs with Padres? I wonder if they mention the Lee Young fight if they face each other?

Played a fulll game last night I was the Giants vs the Pads at Petco. For Giants fans a couple of cool things:

                1) Sandoval does do his pre batting ritual, pretty cool
                2) I won the game 5-3 with Wilson getting the save in typical Wilson fashion. I loaded the bases with no outs and then got out of it only giving up 1 run. Anyway the cool thing was Wilson does his little cross sign to the sky during the post game celebration. It's not exactly like he does it but pretty close.

                3) the planes landing in the backround is cool but i think it's a little overdone.

Playing as the Yanks. A-Rod was up to bat and the little overlay under the score said, "Countdown to 600... A-Rod is ... away from 600HRs"

Playing at Fenway, some fans have on Green Boston basketball jerseys. That is AMAZING

Was playing Cardinals v. Giants and before Yadier Molina stepped into the box he paused to greet Bengie who was catching! For a moment I thought "why is he patting him on the shoulder?" and then I realized they are brothers...crazy!

^^ This...possibly the best addition this year. I can FINALLY change pitching glove colors all around instead of brown, black, or blue.

                        What are your sound settings?
I've played several games different stadiums and was kinda disssapointed at the lack of sounds...IE ..trains,planes drums..ect..

I have my audio settings at default and have a 5.1 surround sound.
Also can you tell us some of the specific sounds you've heard.
                        Thanks

This isn't new...they did it last year and possibly even '08 and earlier....

Matt V imitating other play by play announcers. For example, at home with the Tigers he'll say "As Ernie would say, that's two for the price of one." Or at home with the White Sox, "It's _ to _ good guys." <--- if you're a White Sox fan you know what this is.

It's been said, but catcher taking of his mask to make a play. FINALLY!

Lastly, it's not in the game but how about that launch day support from SCEA. Game's been out 1 day and we have a dynamic patch (franchise is getting a facelift) and roster update coming to fix a bunch of "little" issues. Go SCEA

100% agree. Most developers drag their feet for weeks (if not months) before they fix anything.

Just had a check swing out by Scuturo. It was a pleasant surprise to see it.

The video is in the media thread.
