What game mode did the bug happen in? Every Mode



How did it happen or what did you do to trigger it? Can you recreate it?

Shibe Park Glitch

Any ball that hits the right field wall is credited with a homerun. The scoreboard is supposed to be in play as is right field period. Lets work from this photo as a better explanation since it is a exact replica of the game.



You see the ad's on the lower right field wall. Well all you have to do is clear those on the lower part of the wall in the game and they call it a homerun. This is wrong because you had to clear the entire wall in real life for it to be called a homerun.



How often can the bug be reproduced?


All the time. Pick any mode, hit it to right field and watch it called a homerun regardless of weather it clears the entire wall or not.

I thought this was only if the runner is attempting to reach 2nd (aka stealing)... pickoff, runner is going back to first?

Thank you for saving me the trouble of having to look that up. It is only one base, but the game awards two. It was this way in 09 as well and hasn't been fixed.

What causes it?

A basehit that gets into the left center field corner in PNC Park (there is a triangle there) CAN NOT be fielded by the CPU defenders. It goes for an inside the park home run because the left fielder and center fielder start running into the wall.

Reproduced?

It's happened every single fricking time a ball is hit there. So stupid.

Interesting. I just posted this in the Impressions Thread, but today I hit a HR at Camden that hit about halfway up the RF wall. I'm pretty sure it has to clear the wall at Camden, but I might be wrong.

Season

Two times today I was pitching and had a runner get hit by a ball and play continues. Cost me a total of 6 runs in two games. I have been playing this series since 06 and have never seen a ball hit a runner untill now. Two ground balls I hit today hit a runner and play just continued as if the ball bounced off the base. I am so confused why they would put this in without the official ruling which I know is a dead ball because I am an umpire. Oh well still a great game but this is one of those things that really stinks.

Can it be reproduced? well I seen it twice so yeh looks likes it can. The bases were loaded both times one way a potential double play ball one was a potential 3rd out hit to the 1st baseman.

Situation: Third Base Coach Giving Signs.

Had a runner on 1st base with 1 out and I was up to bat. I did not 'x' through any of the cut-scenes or whatnot. The screen came up with the 3rd base coach standing there and it telling me that the Coach would give me the sign three times about what I was supposed to do. However, NOTHING came up detailing what sign meant what. The coach did his gyrations and then stopped giving signs. The only option I had was to hit the x button. I hit the x button and it went up to me at bat. The first pitch was a ball outside so I layed off of it since it wasn't a good pitch to hit. When the pitcher started his delivery, however, the runner took off and was easily gunned down. I then received -5 or -10 points (can't remember which) for not attempting the hit and run. After the game, I got benched for three games by the manager, and this was at the tail end of my goal period. As a result, I didn't have enough stats/points to meet my goals so I was moved from the starting catcher to a bench player.

Able To Be Reproduced?: Not sure. Haven't had a "get sign from the coach" situation come up again.

Rivalry (Rays vs Red Soxs game 5 in Boston)

1-2 count(Joyce). Man on first (Zobrist). Pitcher(Clay) threw a wild pitch that went to the backstop. The catcher(Victor) ran back to get the ball and got stuck in the running animation and could not reach the ball. The pitcher ran to home plate and just stood there.

Ability to be reproduced: Not sure, but it has happened to me several times (Most recent was me leading off the game)

Situation: My player is a left-handed throwing outfielder, but in some games he will be put in the infield and be throwing right handed

I have had this happen as well. I noticed that it will always happen when the previous half-inning ended with a runner being picked-off or thrown out trying to steal a base. Whatever count the previous batter had will then become the count of the first batter the next half inning.

Way to many wild pitches on swinging third strikes. Yes, it at least does it twice a game. Very unrealistic.

Playing as Yankees against Giants in the Polo Grounds. Randy Winn hit a grand slam home run to left field off the upper deck facade, and then the game froze.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

Not sure, but the last time I had an in-game freeze, I also hit a home run off a facade (the first time was in Citi Field). So it has happened to me before.

Must admit ive not read the whole thread so if this is replicated, my apologies:

Basically the 'Newspaper' articles mentioned that after 'insert player name' hit a home run, that he was now the new Home run king and his total of 'insert number here' was now a new record for the league. That total being way short of Bonds 700 odd and generally being just 50 odd.

This story was also replicated but for a pitcher who had won only like 56 games...

It just automatically appears in the newspaper story and has happened on other test franchises. I have tried controlling just 1 team, or having all 30 teams under my control.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

3 or 4 times for me now, im sure it would keep happening but ive settled into a franchise that im playing.
