It's going to either be off....random....or manual.
One thing...not only can you INJURE players now...but you can TAKE AWAY injuries...
You can switch injuries...on/off/manual throughout the season so that could help you.

Don't forget...whatever teams you set to NO PROFILE...will follow the GLOBAL settings.

^^^ What he said. I control all 30 teams....and aside from simulating all games prior to the ones u play (takes all of 25 secs) the CPU will handle everything else.

BTW....You ONLY get pop up windows regarding injuries etc for your PROFILE teams. SO you are not going to get barnbarded with pop up notifications every week.

This may be a little off topic, but I am curious...

To those of you playing franchise with manual injuries and creating the injuries as in real MLB, how do you play your franchise?

Do you make sure your franchise is always a few days behind or equal to the real MLB schedule so you can enter your real life transactions.

I am always looking for another way to approach this game and these options seem to add a few more options for Franchise players this year.

I was thinking about this as well. I guess I don't have to be exactly on pace with the WHEN the injuries happen. I know I won't have the time to be on pace with the MLB schedule and play a game per day, and with simming, who knows where I get to. But say I'm in game 30 of my franchise, and Jose Reyes gets hurt in real life in game 50, I'll manually make the injury occur right then. I don't care when it really happens, as long as it happened, and I dealt with it for the same duration of time in my franchise. if it's a major injury (few months), I'll try to manually make the injury happen when it did in real life when I catch up to the date on my franchise schedule.

my biggest concern with roster control will be the off-season. how will I bid on Free Agents? should I just let the CPU go off and do what it does and deviate from real life after 1 season? I just might have to because I won't be on pace with the real major league schedule

You don't actually put CPU ROSTER CONTROL on...
Just select all 30 when you start.
Leave the other teams to AUTO...and yours to MANUAL and you'll be bidding as usual for FA's.
What I like is....let's say Derek Jeter is on the FA market...
I take control of contracts for the Yankees....make him a monster offer and give control back...the offer stays and nobody outbids.(even if they do...you can just re-do)
You can do this and still have the CPU signing for the Yanks...it will take control back and continue to fill in.
You can also rescind offers if you don't like what a team is doing(you may have to do so repeatedly and make an offer from another team)
With 30 team....the back and forth options is great.
Really helps you shape the league.

I'm telling you...once the rest of the franchise stuff is worked out....this will be a great franchise mode.

When the season starts, I am going to pull up my nice MLB app on the iPhone, and just set the lineups and pitching rotations for every game played that day.

Then have it sim the games for teams I don't use, and just play the Marlins and Red Sox.

And I will check the injury reports, and call-ups/send-downs, etc each day.

I want to mirror realism (as far as rosters and injuries) as much as I can. And see the sim results and stats, and how they compare to real life.

There is some great advice on this thread guys, thanks a bunch. I am not in front of the game right now and I know I will have questions going forward so hopefully we can keep this thread up at the top for folks that intend on controlling all 30 teams for a season/franchise.

I'm controlling all teams just to make sure something whacky doesn't happen. Other than that, this is an alternate MLB universe and I don't need it to reflect the real MLB.

Very cool though that the options are there!!

Thanks guys for all the info, I've spent a lot of time getting everything right for my season though and really don't feel like starting over so I'm just going to go with a single team franchise for now. If I ever have to start over I might consider the 30 team control but there just isn't enough there for me to start completely over. The only thing I would like is to fix the lineups but that only affects me in the games I play and I can get around that with 2 controllers.

Hope you guys enjoy it, good info on this thread but I'm going to play without it for now.

I'm going to control all 30 teams, but I'm confused a bit... Do I create 2 profiles? Use my own for the team I want to play with(Rockies), and set the other profile to all other teams? Or do i leave the other 29 teams at "No Profile"?

Here's pretty much what I want in my chise: Where do I set options?, for both global and my personal profile, AND the "fake" profile that is "controlling" the other 29 teams???

1. I don't want the CPU making trades on their own, but would like to see offers pop up on the screen still(which they do), and decide whether or not to accept the trade or not for both teams(Don't care to mirror real-life).

2. I want injuries to happen to my Rockies, and the other 29 teams, and don't want to see pop ups about 29 teams lineups/rosters not correct.

3. Is there anyway to get In-game scores while playing??

Apparently, if you sim every other game before starting the game you want to play, you will see in-game scores.
