Re: 30 Team Roster control
Ok, to review: I don't care about injuries, in fact I usually turn them off. What I care about is guys staying on the right teams and being able to move them accordingly. Also, I don't want Pujols batting 2nd ever. Braves Fan's fix works for a given day, but it would still be skewed for all the rest of the games, which I don't want.
So if I control the Sox, make a 2nd profile for everyone else, and have everything auto except linupes (I'd turn cpu trades off) I should have full control and keep the lineups the way I want them?Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
A couple of thoughts:
1) I could have swore we could control all 30 teams last year. There was CPU roster control. I'm still kind of miffed over what I can do in controlling all 30 teams that I couldn't do last year, minus the ability to manually do injuries.
If I remember correctly, though, I had to do everything via CPU roster control. Either way, to me I still had control over all 30 teams last year so I'm still failing to see the difference.
2) So is the only difference between season and franchise modes the team budget and stuff like that?
I simmed through a season and went through all the standard offseason stuff before coming back for 2011 spring training. The budget and team goals seem to be the only difference between season and franchise. After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
I'm having flashbacks while playing right now. If I remember right, I could control all 30 teams via CPU roster control, but the one kink was the other 29 teams would go with the CPU's adjusted lineup and not my edited lineup unless I was playing with that team.
YEAAAH! So, I guess the 30 team roster control feature really just allows you to keep guys like Todd Helton from hitting leadoff. After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Are other people experiencing a glitch in which even you you have everything for a team set to manual, the CPU still optimizes every team's roster (lineups/rotation/call-ups and send downs) when you end Spring Training? This is really ticking me off, and I can't find a way around it. Is there a way around it? If not they should really patch it. I'll post a detailed report about it in the bugs/glitches thread as long as long as this is happening to everyone and if there's no way around it.Comment

30 team control
Your profile for your team.
Set the rest to NO PROFILE...in the GLOBAL options....have injuries off....lineups and trades to MANUAL...and you should be good to go.

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Sounds like a good idea to post in the glitches thread. If I remember right, even the team I controlled in last year's game would do some "auto" adjustments after spring training. Makes sense if that is still happening this year. After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Really? My heavily modified Cubs roster last year would always stay just as I set it unless I permitted the CPU to make an auto-move in the case of an injury. This year, my rosters are getting all trashed by the CPU even though I'm supposed to be in full control of my teams.Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Knight, you're my hero, just as u were last year.
And as to the other question, I think you have to do it again after spring, but then it works right, if I'm reading this all correctly.Comment

...no you're right AFTER spring training.

Re: 30 Team Roster control
So I assume that with lineups set to manual they wont make any alterations but at the same time they wont be able to make any changes when players arent playing well and there is a better option on the bench correct? I havent been ale to play this since Tuesday unfortunately, and wont be starting my franchise until the roster update on Monday probably, but I wanted to get as much clarification on this as possible before then.Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
knight, I hate to beat a horse to death but since your the mlb guru; to clear things up is it better to set the other 29 teams to no profile with global settings or is it better to set the other 29 teams with a dummy profile 2 or does it matter? you the man. loved the rosters last year and can't wait to see em again this year. thanksComment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
So even if you have all 30 teams' lineups set to Manual, they will still get all screwy after Sprint Training. That's straight-up whack!
Anyway to prevent this, or do you have to bite the bullet and fix every lineup before Opening Day games?
Anyone know of a website that lists likely opening day batting lineups and pitcher rotations?Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Wow, that's why there is nothing on all of my scoreboards. Thanks. I think I'm just going to not use 30 team control anyway. I'm not sure what the real benefits to it are anyway. Maybe as I keep reading the board I'll find out what they are.Yankees & Nationals - The American Way!Comment
