Question... where do we post things we'd like to see changed for MLB '11?

    Thanks.

Might be able to help you here...there is a glitch in the game where, if you change the CPU Roster Control option to on, even if you switch it back to off before the game starts, the CPU will never make any trades with one another.

So you should leave Cpu roster control off when starting your franchise as you can still control things with 30 team control, correct?

Is there any solution to that or should I just start a new franchise? I guess maybe I could just make it so I make trades based on real life. It just seems weird because the computer is making trade rumors but they're just not executing them.

I might just have to play baseball god then.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

I searched this thread for a RTTS Trade Work Around, but I didn't find anything.

Anyways, I've discovered something that may help people playing as position players who play every game in controlling the amount of trades that occur in RTTS. You will need at least 2 RTTS save files (and for those who have played RTTS in previous years version, it's always wise to have multiple saves).

Following this steps you can limit certain trades (example, the Phillies trading RF Domonic Brown/A prospect for 1B David Ortiz and random throw-in player when they already have Ryan Howard).

            1) First, after you complete your game, save a RTTS file (RTTS 1)

            2) After that, sim the rest of the day (will select this day as 6/5/10) (go over the date of the game you played and select SIM TO DATE), now you will be moved to the next day.

            3) Save a new RTTS file (RTTS 2).

            4) Sim through date (Example 6/6/10) and then check the League Roundup for any trades.

Depending on what transactions occurred on 6/6/10, you can proceed forward by reloading RTTS 2 if there aren't any trades or if any trades did occur, they weren't "ridiculous". If a trade did occur that you do not agree with, reload RTTS 1 and repeat the steps until you get a favorable transaction list. By saving the RTTS 1 file, you can always go back and reset the transactions set to occur on 6/6/10. However, with the RTTS 2 file, the transactions that occur on 6/6/10 will always happen with that file so you can reload and proceed with that one without the uncertainty of the transactions changing on you.

I've tested this with a week's worth of games and so far I've been able to eliminate odd trades and it has worked. Apparently it seems that when you're on a certain day, regardless of whether you reload or not on that same day, there's already transactions set in place for that date so the only way to reset the transactions is to go back to a previous day.

            I hope this helps.

EDIT: I've discovered one instance where it has not worked. I had done all the steps and there is no trade on the day I saved the RTTS 2 file, but when I reload it, a ridiculous trade between Rockies and White Sox keeps occuring on the day now (even though most of the transactions are the same). It seems like when I reload RTTS 1 and sim the previous date, no trade occurs but after I save the RTTS 2, sim, and reload it, the trade occurs. This is something to keep an eye out.

Am I missing something or what! I played this game since March...but put it down for a month or so and now I want to start a season with Beltran now in my lineup. The season starts in spring training with my correct pitching rotation and lineups....but when I go to start the regular season, I now have the default roster! Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

I found my answer...all the way back to page 15. I guess when I started my first season way back in March I didn't need to fix my roster and I didn't notice it. Sorry!

Guys, you CANNOT sim the whole spring.

Sim until 5 days before spring training is over and send the ST invites back down to AAA....

You will have correct lineups and rotation, unless someone is injured

                  East fix

Now, how do I MANUALLY injure a player? I don't want Bip Roberts and Chris Young starting the season...so how do I 'injure' them...or am I mistaken that we can do that this year?

You can...you have to have injuries on MANUAL...then go to the DISABLED LIST.....use the R buttons to navigate the team screens.....highlight and hit X on a player and choose his injury and length.

If you don't have one of the options(I don't remember the name) on AUTO....you'll also have to put them on the DL(or maybe you have to do it regardless.....I don't remember.)

I have everything set to Auto for the 29 other teams in the global profile, I just wanted to get the pre season injuries accurate

What is the XMB? I save my replays and it says they are there...I just have no idea what it is...ugh

                        That's the Cross Media Bar.
It's the interface you see when no game is in or when you quit a game....the black background with all the different options and places on the bar...

I joined this forum just for this problem I am having. I am currently playing through ST in my franchise with the Twins..I'm not new to the show I just wanted to play to get used to batting again after awhile.

My problem is every game seems to go the same. I can almost call shots and predict whats going to happen next based on what just happened. If I get out to an early lead..no matter how big (although I can never extend past 4..amazing plays and suddenly great pitching make sure of that) the CPU will come back and either get within one and make up the other one in the next inning or make it all back right after me. Also, if they get up on me chances are good that I will have a huge inning to get back in it too, so atleast most of the time it goes both ways..but no matter how it starts out like that I will lose 3 out of 4 times in the 9th or extra innings. It's so predictable that it is infuriating and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I had one game where I was absolutely destroyed by the Red Sox 19-3..other than that they have all been 1-2 run ballgames. The only time I seem to win is when Slowey starts and Joe Nathan has blown 3 games for me..how ridiculous is that? against scrub pinch hitters even..has anyone else had this experience?

I would also like to mention that my hitting does not tend to be a problem..its pitching (ranked 11th i believe according to the game, says its ranked 4th in my franchise, only roster addition i made was Hudson) and defense(24th?)..my Starters cannot hit there spots (I use classic pitching, not a fan of the meter never was) and are almost always good for an early 3 and then nothing..and even though I think the Twins defense is underrated..it is my top fielders (punto and hudson, both rated A fielders) that end up making all the errors..

Can anybody throw me a bone? I'm sorry for the super long first post btw.

We have been told repeatedly that there is no such thing as a comeback code in this game. It doesn't matter what you are seeing in your franchise, because the developers have said it doesn't exist. Never mind all the other bugs and glitches that weren't supposed to exist. You just have to take their word for it. In my franchise, I just hit the 280 games played mark. Of those 280 games, there have been at least one comeback in 263 of them. That makes it about 93%. This is not counting every comeback, just games with a comeback. I also have to say that in a little over half of those games there have been comebacks that I have made (133). But harping on percentages doesn't really answer your question, so I will try and give it the old college try.

Whether you believe that there is a comeback code or not, there seems to be a lot of comebacks. Since that is the case, my advice is to try and spot when they are happening and do something to disrupt it. For example, I may be pitching very well with my ace, then score 3 runs in an inning, and all of a sudden they start teeing off on him no matter perfectly spotted the pitch is. What needs to be done is something to disrupt the comeback before it fully kicks in. I might throw first pitch balls high, or toss in a changeup that just drops out of the zone. I am certainly not afraid to start walking players, especially when I know there will be back to back to back doubles if I don't. I will call mound visits, throw over to first several times in a row (on that batter you just walked), call a pitch out, or just about anything you have not been doing so far. Anything you can do to change what you were doing has a chance of helping. Baseball is a game of momentum, and I believe that you have to break up the rhythm in order to stop the comebacks. I hope that helps out a little. If not, well baseball is a long season, so don't sweat every loss. If you are in the right division, just getting above 500 may get you to the playoffs.

I will give that a try. I'm not worried about every loss I actually like to lose from time to time to keep it interesting but I'm currently 5-13 and in 08 i was 21-2 in spring with a much worse team.. I am not even aware as to what a comeback code is but I think i can pretty much figure it out.. I've tried walkin guys before to stop it and hopefully get a double play but then they either crack a 2 run homer or I walk the next 3..But I appreciate the advice.

I also have another question..Is it better just to let the CPU handle player training? because I have tried doing it myself and to this point my players get no better..they either stay static or in most cases start to decrease..is it just me? or should I just let the CPU handle that aspect?
