Demo is old code. December build. Read the impressions threads from final.

Outfielders are misplaying balls, taking bad jumps, bad routes, balls over their heads, diving and booting balls, losing them in the sun, overrunning balls, different fielder speeds, etc.

Now you will not get that all the time, since in real life baseball it is not all too common, most plays are made more than not. But it is a night and day difference over last year. Especially when you play different full length games against different teams in the final build, all that stands out.

The demo was to mainly showcase the analog controls.

I am still seeing the same thing as far as alignment is concerned in the final build. Again I haven't seen this impact balls played in the air, but balls played from the ground have presented issues at times (guys getting to balls in the gap that should have made it to the wall and the animation issue of my centerfielder starting to lazily go after a grounder that just made it past second and he is back by the wall allowing runners to improperly advance.

in all the games played, I have yet to see either of these.

I've hit gappers that were laced over the infield and then quickly got to the ground and rolled to the wall without the fielders cutting it off.

Also, I'm not sure what you're doing in regards to your fielders not playing the ball fast enough allowing runners to advance extra bases. Unless I take a bad route to the ball or make a bonehead play myself, I have been holding runners to the appropriate bases.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I am not doing anything on the ball hit to the centerfielder, that is the issue. As soon as the ball crosses second he goes into an animation. Nothing to do with any direction I move the stick because I can't control him and the ball is hit either right up the middle or just to the side of the bag so even if I could control him I couldn't chalk it up to a bad angle on the ball.

This has happened twice in maybe 20 games. In no way am I saying this is anything more to me than a minor issue. My guess is that the animation to smooth out the transition onto the ball is being triggered a bit early and that is compunded by what appears to be the outfielders playing a bit deep. These same animation are what make the game look so smooth when an outfield is running onto a ball so if its a necessary evil I could live with it.

With respect to the general outfielders playing "god-like" in no way does that appear to be the case this year as I didn't think even last year the depth was creating the issues of them being able to get to everything.

The balls in the gap is a subjective thing. I have hit balls in the gap as well. I have just seen fielders get to some that I wouldnt think they would in real life.

Even in demo I've hit plenty of standup doubles and have hit a decent amount of triples.

In any case I'm sure the sliders can get what each person wants.
