Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
The last two posts have me thinking that some guys still don't understand what 30 team control entails.
The term 30 team control is a bit misleading I believe.
It can mean.....controlling everything for the other teams...or nothing at all. However...
If you start a franchise WITHOUT selecting all 30 teams...you are stuck with whatever happens
If you start a franchise WITH the OLD CPU ROSTER CONTROL(controlling all 30 teams the old way)...you are forced to do everything for each team.
If you start a franchise with the NEW 30 team control....you don't have to do anything for any team but yours. NOTHING......UNLESS...you want to. It also gives you the opportunity to step in to any teams front office(WITHOUT changing anything to manual)...and make a simple or even complex move for them.
For instance:
You just finished your 2010 season with the Boston Red Sox....you chose 30 team control ...but have all other 29 teams to NO PROFILE and all the GLOBAL OPTIONS set to AUTO. The CPU has been making every decision for every other team all season long. You have done nothing for any team but yours for the entire 2010 season.
You are going through the 15 day exclusive contract period and notice that the Yankees are about to let Mariano Rivera go to the FA market. Yikes....that's not good, right?
Now...you can go to the Yankee manage roster screen and offer Mariano one last contract at ridiculous Yankee money....ensuring that he ends his career as a N.Y. Yankee. Simple.
30 team control....sweet.
..and imagine this...I didn't have to quit my job to do it!

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
Does 30 team control with everything set to auto fix the problem with teams not re-signing players in 2013-2014? If you manually make a team sign a player, will they still release someone to make up for it?Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
I did a test franchise with 30 team control and didn't like it. I don't care about adjusting lineups for other teams, or deciding who they should or shouldn't sign. I hated having to manually sim every game to get out of town scoreboards, but the biggest deal breaker was having to control every team for the draft. It really just didn't seem to be better for me to control other teams.Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
wait...last year in 09' i controlled just one team (w/ cpu roster control on) and i was still able to control all the lineups, trades, etc. for all thirty teams even then, so i don't really see the advantage here?Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
Oh and you can have injuries with 30 team control. And you can manually injure players should you choose to, which some here do as they replicate the actual major league season in terms of roster moves.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

QUOTE: In a way...I would love to use it if I weren't forced to use it because of bugs/glitches...ie. lineup changes.
So do you mean the lineup bug is still in this years game? i dont have MLB '10 yet, but i did play '09....so does this mean that if you control all 30 teams, the lineup changes won't happen?
Also last year if you set the lineup for the team you were about to play, it would be switched around once you got into the game because of certain guys fatigue factor...but there was a workaround if you used 2 controllers... so can someone explain this for me, i basically want to avoid the CPU screwing w/ my lineups for the other teams (one would think w/ CPU roster control "on" that this wouldn't happen even in a single team franchise)Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
If you have the computer controlled teams set to Auto for lineups then you can still change the lineups and they will stick until the computer needs to change them, like for an injury. If you have the lineups and everything set to manual, then you will have complete control all the time of them.Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
so even if i''m just controlling 1 team in my franchise, i can set the other teams lineups and they won't get flip-flopped like last year?Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
I have been searching and can't find out how to do it? Can you shed some light on how to do this?
I'm a month in my season, and don't want to restart if I don't have to.
I have control of the Marlins, and no other team, but want to use 30 team control now.
Thanks!Last edited by Triumph; 04-17-2010, 11:03 PM.Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
30 team control is the absolute best thing I've ever seen that's not gameplay wise in a game. I started out using Knight's rosters and from the end of spring training set the 25 man rosters and after the season started the 40 man rosters. All I do is follow mlbdepthcharts.com and mlb.com/transactions and it lists every player for every team that gets injuried, called up or sent down, put on assignment, whatever. It's the best. Every sports game should implement this option. The AI never seems to get lineups correct and it's awesome following right along with the season. Currently 7-4 in my buccos franchise and I can't wait for the team to call up Pedro Alvarez.
Question, once the drafts are complete can I edit some of the draft picks to mirror actual impact players for the start of the 11-12 season?Comment

Re: 30 team franchise is a blast!
But we could do all that in mbl 09 even while just controlling one team couldn't we (as far as controlling the other team's 40 man rosters and lineups)? as long as you had CPU roster control "on." The problem was the CPU would screw w/ your lineups, but this year it sounds like even if you just control 1 team the CPU now doesn't touch it, so i still don't quite see the advantage of controlling all 30 teams? especially with the scoreboard and extra sim time
30 Team Control = injuries
Thats one of the biggest advantages right there. Also with 30 team control..the cpu will trade amongst itself and if you deem a trade to be "unrealistic" then you can control the teams and switch them back. You could also make sure that teams don't get rid of that star player, etc...
30 team control trumps roster control in a pretty significant way.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
