How do you know the ball didn't bounce off your catcher's mask and end up landing in the Angles dugout and bouncing off of Napoli's? Just kidding. I have had this happen with other players as well. Pretty much every time a catcher fouls one back off another catcher's mask.

Incorrect Commentary: "It's been quite the pitching duel, we've had the same score since *insert inning*
Why Was It Incorrect: The score at the time was 14-2... but it had been 14-2 for about six straight innings.http://flotn.blogspot.com

RTTS as SP
Wrong
"He can still win, get a no-decision, or even be on hook for the loss as he's responsible for BOTH runners" or something to that effect as I'm being pulled.
Wrong?
8th inning, runner on 2nd, 1 out, team leads 3-2. There was only ONE runner (not two) on base when he was removed and he's the tying run so he CAN'T be a potential loser.
Edit: Came up again, same situation as above except its the 7th with 2 outs. Once again, both "be on hook for the loss as he's responsible for BOTH runners" is incorrect because there was only ONE runner on base (and again, he's the tying run so the loss part doesn't apply).Last edited by MatrixTN; 08-26-2010, 10:59 AM.Comment

Season (late in the seasn)
Wrong
"It's unfortunate but late in the season players will do just about anything to get noticed for next year" Or something along those lines
Wrong?
I guess I just don't understand why this is said, and it is said usually once a game. It sounds like something to be said when a player steals for no reason or swings in a bunt situation or something like that. But this is said when a guy gets a single or something good like that. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Incorrect Commentary:
Two items.....
"This could be two" and
"This should be extra bases"
Why was it incorrect?
Too often it's said when the ball is either by the infielder, it's a solid base hit, or, regarding the extra bases, it's not close to being a extra base hit.Comment

Re: MLB '10 Incorrect Commentary Thread
Last night during a franchise game (White Sox and Pirates Franchise) I was playing as the Pirates vs the Dodgers. I had jsut hit a three run home run with Garrett Jones and upon Ryan Chruch coming to the plate Vas comments that "With a runner at 3rd all he needs here is a base hit to bring him in." Thats not a dirrect quote.MLB - Chicago White Sox

Guzman leads off hits the ball right at the RF on one hop. Matt says, "He's going to have extra bases on the first pitch of the night".
Why was it incorrect?
Ball was hit right at the RFer. This reference to "extra base hit(s)" comes up too much when there is no hint of an extra base hit.Comment

Incorrect Commentary:
I hit a ground ball up the middle into center field. Matt gets excited and yells "And it stays in the park as it is off the center field wall!"
Why was it incorrect?
It was a soft ground ball up the middle that the center fielder had to run in about 30 yards to field.
EDIT: This was in Progressive Field in Cleveland. I mention this because yet ANOTHER one happened in the same ball park. See BelowLast edited by ferriscj24; 07-26-2010, 03:06 PM.Believe None of What You Hear, and Half of What You See.Comment

I hit a weak ground ball up the middle into center field. Matt once again gets excited and yells "And it rattles against the wall out there in Center"
Why was it incorrect?
It was a soft ground ball up the middle that the center fielder had to run in about 50 yards this time to field.

Re: MLB '10 Incorrect Commentary Thread
Game Mode:
Franchise, second season
Incorrect Commentary:
August 5th, Carlos Pena steps up to the plate and they say "This guy has already gone deep 9 times this month". Next batter, "This guy has had a great month driving in 20 runs". Later in the same game, cut scene flashes to pitcher "this guy has had a great month going 4-0".
Why was it incorrect?
I am pretty sure that I would remember hitting 9 homers in 5 games, very sure I didn't get 20 RBI's in 5 games, and 100% positive my starting pitcher didn't have a 4-0 record in just 5 games (his record was 4-0 for the season).Comment

Incorrect Commentary:
I am playing as the Detroit Tigers against the New York Mets at Citi Field. I had a man on second, and hit a base hit into RF to Jeff Francour. I attempted to score from second, and Francour came up firing and threw a perfect strike to nail my runner at home. Matt Vasgersian got all excited and yelled "They should know better than to run on Ichiro!!!"
Why was it incorrect?
Ichiro plays for the Seattle Mariners. I was playing as the Tigers against the Mets. Though Francour's throw looked awfully "Ichiro-esque", Ichiro had nothing to do with that game.Believe None of What You Hear, and Half of What You See.Comment

When they showed the starting pitching comparison, both starters were bad and Matt. V said so, but he also said, "Neither pitcher able to get through the 6th inning."
Why it was incorrect:
My pitcher went 6 innings exactly. No Images in SigComment
