I hope they implement MLB Network in some way next year, be it the score ticker or Fast Pitch as a post-game show. As for announcers, Matty V. needs to stay. I'm not sure who would be an option, but it's time for a change.

re: Commentator Discussion Thread
I wouldn't have a problem if they kept the exact commentators they have now as long as they redo ALL the lines they say. I like Matt V. but I just think they should go "fresh" and get a whole different trio to add a little something new next year. I think Vin Scully would be a nice tribute to him and his career by putting him in the game. Also by doing so he can be a solo act with no added "color commentary" guys since he does the Dodger games alone. Just my two cents. :oComment

re: Commentator Discussion Thread
As long as we are looking at dream sequences (as it is SCEA's budget.... not coming out of my pocket)...
Screw the budget and go this route:
Go and get the TV guys from every team and if you are playing @ home you get your guys....if you are playing away you get their announcers doing the game.
dream big!Comment

Personally I think the commentary trio and flow is fine, they just need to keep adding lines (a lot new lines) to keep it more fresh.Comment

re: Commentator Discussion Thread
Marty Brennaman is the best radio announcer of all time, shames Vin Scully's sleep a thon calls. Thom Brennaman is a treat to hear on TV, although he can be a little hard on the home team but I like guys that call it as they see it.
Scully on MLB 98 was so booooring and mundane...I would be devastated if he joined the video game booth. The game gets boring as it is.Comment

re: Commentator Discussion Thread
I dont care who it is so long as they actually change the style its done in.
The only thing 2K10 does right is the commentary, go and listen to it on a video, it sounds as though they are commentating on a real game, totally different to the scripted diatribe and appalling jokes Dave and Rex do on The Show. Matts good but again he needs to more sort of "talk" the commentary, as he would do in reality, get rid of the canned scripting, it sounds like what it is, commentating on a video game.
I love The Show to death but one of the key things stopping it from having that broadcast authenticity is the commentary.
I repeat, its not so much what is said but the way and style in which it is said.
I really hope SCEA is in the process of changing this part of an otherwise stellar game.
i have reached a point where i turn the announcers off now. I cant stand listening to them say the same dumb things over and over. Plus the endless number of times the say the wrong thingComment

Anyone but Joe Buck, Joe Morgan, and especially Kruk and Kuiper. I can't believe those two knuckleheads are even on the list. What is wrong with you people? Didn't you get enough "grab some pine meat" in MVP 05? The sad thing is that he still says that in real life. I have to mute the TV when watching the Giants versus A's.Comment

re: Commentator Discussion Thread
Anybody besides the Sunday Night Baseball crew. Those guys should just go to a bar and have their conversations there because they hardly ever talk about the actual game being played. It's always about the latest thing Manny has done. And yeah ESPN we get it... Joe Morgan used to play baseball, but that doesn't mean I want to hear about it for 3.5 hours.Comment

re: Commentator Discussion Thread
I think they need to get people from the MLB Network since MLB The Show is like a network. It wouldnt make sense to have lets say the Mets broadcast team calling a game between the Red Sox and Pirates, why arent they at the Mets game!?
If you pick the cast from MLB Network it makes it more realistic. I actually believe Al Leiter is a great color commentator (he does a lot of Yankees games and works for MLB network also) and gives very good insight on a pitchers point of view. Then they can have Harold Reynolds give the hitters/fielder point of view. They can still keep Matt V. as the play by play.
I think this would be a great group.Comment
