Re: What do you suspect will B changed in '11?
Its better than a "PCI" system where the batter doesn't have to come close to where the pitch is located...Only to see it smacked to the opposite field and out of the park. Either scrap the ratings portion that makes it hilariously unrealistic or give me PYS's bat oval that actually dictates how the ball is hit.
If they scrap the ratings part of batting, stats would be unrealistic.Comment

Seriously, I can count on one hand the doubles I hit that go over the heads of outfielders in all the games I've played against the cpu. They run down everything and like has been said by stroem, it's as though the ball just hangs up. Maybe its the level and use of the L stick? idk...Pitchers and Catchers Report; Life Worth Living AgainComment

But having no ratings is?
Then you would be pretty much hitting the same with every player, and there would be no individual stats that mirror that of the MLB with those player types.
Tune the ratings and logic more if anything. That is the bread and butter of a sim if you have a good foundation.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: What do you suspect will B changed in '11?
I would have to agree with the other posters. I see all kinds of variety on doubles. Screamers down the line. Balls hit in the gap, balls hit over outfielders heads, balls hit off the wall. Maybe its the sliders you are using. I use Psycho's sliders and have not had any issue with the amount or variety of extra base hits. Fielder speed 1, reaction 10.Comment

Agreed! This needs fixed or overhauled in someway. The camera angles are horrible when reacting to a line drive and you have to get back to the base, you go where you dont wanna go depending on if its caught or if it gets past the fielder. total frustration at times and hope it gets taken care of.Comment

Re: What do you suspect will B changed in '11?
I play on default legend hitting (cont 4, fouls 4, stk feq 3) and as I said earlier, hitting balls over the outfielders head is not an issue for me.
I use the L-Stick too.
I'm not doubting you, though.Comment

Show me where I said to have no ratings. I clearly said scrap the portion that makes it hilariously unrealistic.
Something is wrong when Ryan Howard consistantly hits .300+ in a franchise..The PCI system is flawed in a lot of areas.Comment

If you're saying the system....you are absolutely, unequivocally wrong.
It works nearly to perfection.
There is something hilarious in this thread alright.

Re: What do you suspect will B changed in '11?
I said ratings...Did I not?
Now, when I said PCI was flawed in a lot of areas...That was a little overboard on my part. It's strictly the ratings portion of the "system" that is flawed and needs to be re-done.Last edited by Shakedowncapo; 11-25-2010, 12:46 PM.Comment

Re: What do you suspect will B changed in '11?
Again...is it that you believe the ratings themselves are incorrect...or the way the game translates ratings into it's outcomes?
If you are saying that the system that determines the outcomes are flawed....I again will tell you ....you are absolutely wrong. I can easily make just about any player(of course with some variation...and some "oddball" years) come up with any set of stats I want from the ratings. Easily. The system it self works nearly perfectly.
Now....if you are arguing what ratings are handed out...that's another matter and really nothing "needs" to be done.
I'll give you case in point.
Player X hit .280 with 15 homers and 72 RBI. Give him ratings for that, right?
Wrong....
Because the next season he hit .304 with 32 homers and 108 RBI. What ratings would you give him?...
Nope...
Because the next season he hit .241 with 15 homers and 85 RBI....so you would give him those ratings, right?
Wrong...
Because in his next season...he hit .290 with 26 homers...and...
Well you(well, maybe not you...but others) might get the picture.
Are SCEA's ratings perfect...certainly not....but the system in which they play into the game is the best to date in any baseball game.
Hands down.
Trust me...I've made roster for them all.
