Re: I'm THIS close to snapping this disc in two

Well I understand the frustration that can come with the Show. My Rangers were just swept by the Mariners and it might rank as the most frustrating experience with a video game I have had ever. Game 1 I lost 0-1 in the 12th inning to a solo shot HR by Kotchman. I had 16 hits to their 4. I had bases loaded 3 times and couldn't get a run to the most fishy circumstances I have ever experienced with the Show. Game 2 I lost 3-4 in the 19th inning (yes 19th) to Ichiro single to shortstop. (yes to the shortstop) Overthrown ball to first and then Cruz fielding the error overthrows third base and then he scored. Game 3 I had a no hitter going into the 8th with C.J Wilson to lose 3-11.

I'm done with this game till next year's version.

Most frustrating video game that I ever played in my life. Unless they fixed these scripted events I'm done with this series.

Sounds like baseball to me. Why so many posts about people destroying their discs today?

What do you mean what scripted events? Like the random ai combacks when they were cold the entire game? When the cpu is safe at first even though you threw them out by an entire yard? Your player not throwing to first to get an easy double play and then having the cpu score the run the next batter? Yea...

Or like Roy Halladay's sailing along, only giving up four hits through seven innings and 115 pitches, then all of a sudden in the eighth, he loses a couple of mph off his fastball and his location's not as good anymore, so I wind up losing the game. I mean, what's that all about!

Or Yovanni Gallardo only gives up one run through eight innings....guys can barely touch him....then I bring Trevor Hoffman in and guys start lighting him up and I lose the game!!

                So scripted! (ha!)

I'm not talking about realistic events like that. I mean things like having an easy out at first to end the game but your fielder not wanting to throw the ball and then having the next batter hit a homerun to tie the game up. that's what i'm talking about dude.

lol... i know, it sucks... what level do you play... some say vet keeps this kind of feeling from rearing its ugly head. except i play in mixed mode, i'd have to test full vet mode both batting and pitching.

anyway, how errors pan out can be laughable too often to sort of domino affect innings for you... i can sometimes predict a stupid error happening by my fielders ( i use auto fielding) the moment the cpu batter makes contact... i'm like here we go... we need more of those high degree of difficulty induced errors, not those...oh and the routine double play ball, throw sails high! and goes into center field.

i find that generally when the cpu scores on you say to tie, or take a lead in a tough, pitched game when you've been ahead throughout, basically after 'they' get what they want, you're gonna get the 3rd out easily, ground out whatever lol.

and my general feeling is that while at bat, there are certain pitches that are served up to you to make a hit.... it can be early in the game or later... these become key moments in the game that if you don't don't swing properly on it to make a hit that the cpu is giving to you... those moments for you to take the game are gone and the cpu will lean towards winning the game. so those cpu aces you face, you need to break them otherwise they start dominating.

                          pretty much this.

Yeah look I was an AI comeback guy last year but I didn't complain about it in ridicoulous amounts, I just stopped playing it out of frustration and went about my way. However I've realized that we (baseball fans) see it every single day in real life baseball. This all happens everyday, look at this thread. http://www.operationsports.com/vBull...stic-show.html

It just goes to show the incredible amount of realism that is put into this game.

And in all honesty it makes it so much better when you accept the fact that this isn't the old days of gaming when we went 152-10 in a video game baseball season and that it's much more difficult to stay close in the standings.
