Re: MLB 11 The Show Community Day Discussion Thread - Questions, Answers etc.
I was told that the degree of separation between my fastest and slowest pitches is going to be around 15 mph or so. So if I am topping out at 100 mph on some pitches, my arm-speed will only allow my slowest pitches to be in the ballpark of 85 mph or so.
A few questions regarding this:
1) Is this also in effect for all other players or just RTTS
2) What about players with slow curveballs? Ex:Clayton Kershaw's CB is 20mph slower than his FB
3) What effect does this have on pitchers with a Sinker as his fastball and no 4SFB or 2SFB?
4) What effect does this have on pitchers with SLOW fastballs: for instance if I made a submarining pitcher with a 77 mph "fast"ball. Could he then through a 62 mph offspeed pitch? (77-15=62)
These are primarily targeted at aukevin but Kinght may want to get in on this as it may affect roster making. Thanks!!!Comment

From my experience in the editor the only limit are those within the editor itself. You can create or edit a guy to have a 103 MPH fastball and a 70 MPH curve or 68 MPH changeup. Not realistic, but you can have it that way.

This isn't what you're referring to, but mentioning hair and seeing you & Tree reminded me that an "inside source" told me McCutchen is looking good this year...Comment

Did they mention if they are planning on adding things for next year? We may have to reconcile to the fact that we might never get licensed gear, but more generic designs would be awesome. I noticed in older versions they used the louisville slugger model bats and some different style cleats. It a shame they took those out and replaced them with the rawlings instead of keeping them in and just adding the rawlings bats.Comment

1) You can have it play only for home, you just go under the team options for sounds and apply everything there. All different team ballparks can have all their unique stuff this year added, since they made the options list huge!
2) You can not adjust the region, but it is much smaller than it has been in the past. And there were plenty of instances where we missed catchers, and took them off the arms, etc.
2) That's good to hear. I did get an answer earlier that the suction was reduced, so if the area itself is smaller and you have to be lined up better to make a catch, I'll be happy.
Maybe next year there's a wishlist request for a "Catch Region Size" slider, which I think could be nice, but it sounds at least like there are some solid improvements this year. Thanks!"60% of the time, it works every time."Comment

The players by SCEA may have(many have) been redone.
Gear?
We can ask...who knows what they have in store. We expressed our feelings for more "generic" options and they seemed open to it. We did get more colors...and options a couple of versions ago('09 maybe?)...so obviously they will add if they get time and feel it's a benefit.
