Not too much different on this front. You are given an automatic lead and anything beyond this the CPU looks at it as a steal threat. It definitely needs to be tones down. I gave the feedback but not sure if we will see any changes with this for 11.

I played a game with classic pitching. There is now a rumble when you reach max effort with classic pitching. It is pretty quick too, only about a second or two. As far as control goes it seemed a little tighter, I know most guys don't like this mode but it has been a favorite of mine as I like to try to solve the control issues by finding the right mix of effort to get things under control.Did anyone get any time in with classic pitching? I know it's a dead horse, and I hate to bring it up, but i'm hoping control is improved. I never felt confident that any of my pitches would go to the intended target, or even in the same area, even with guys like Cliff Lee on the mound. I almost wish we had an option similar to High Heat, where all we would do is pick the pitch, aim with the stick, and then hit X. From there, ratings and the situation would take over. I know most don't like the lack of control, but for me, it kept a good balance for realism, as you had to make smart pitches, but the ratings made a big difference as well.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory” -

Does the pickoff frequency slider help you guys with that? Not too much different on this front. You are given an automatic lead and anything beyond this the CPU looks at it as a steal threat. I turn it down for my MoM games.....just to get through them a bit quicker sometimes...and I saw less. It should work for you guys in regularly played games too.

Yes it does help. I don't have issues with too many pickoff attempts.Joshua:

Re: MLB '11: The Show Community Day Gameplay Q&A
1) Are the long fielding animations still present where it takes like 10 secs for the outfielder to get the ball?
2) Is the suction for the outfielders less than last yr? ie. Do I have more control of the fielder the whole time, or will the AI take over the fielder at the last second and go into an animation?
I like to circle around a fly ball and get into position myself, rather than the game doing it for me. The way I test this on any baseball game is this:
If I can stand on the ball marker, and at the last second run off the marker and let the ball drop, the game gives me total control which I love! But if the game doesnt let me move off the marker and let the ball drop, then I dont have total control, and the animation is present.
I obviously wouldnt move off the marker in a real game situation, thats just how i test it for total control. this yr the suction was present, but WAY less than previous versions of the SHOW.Comment

Outfield play as a whole has been worked on. Players do not immediately jump as soon as the ball is hit anymore. You definitely will feel the effects of the player ratings kick in as some players cannot cover the same amount of ground to get to the ball. Momentum is key in the outfield because if you misstep it takes a bit to correct yourself possible causing you to miss the ball. The animations did not seem overly long but you really need to pre-load for the quickest turn around. A neat trick Ramone taught me is if you approach a fly in an arc fashion finishing towards the general direction you want to get your throw off ii will unleash a fierce throw animation that is so smooth and slick you will want to replay a few times.
I had this conversation while I was out there and while it is reduced some there is still going to be an area that the cpu will take over to complete the catch animation. They feel very strongly about the need to have a smooth catch animation. That area is needed to make the bridge so to speak from player to ball. They do not want all quick catch animations in the game. Which by the way are in the game at times depending on the situation where the user is allowed to get closer to the catch region before the cpu takes over.2) Is the suction for the outfielders less than last yr? ie. Do I have more control of the fielder the whol time, or will the AI take over the fielder at the last second and go into an animation?

Re: MLB '11: The Show Community Day Gameplay Q&A
I know I sure do, Ill have the slider all the way down, it helps a tad but not much. on average ill steal maybe once a game and get picked off once as well. If your runner has good Base running ability (not speed) it helps but still if its after the 7th and in a close game u take a lead, youre toastComment

I don't recall the number but it was substantial. I think what is going to keep things fresher is that all players are not exposed to all animations. It adds a lot of diversity to the game imo.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Knight,
I think I read it somewhere, but was half asleep....I know Franchise was not really touched this year, but will the known bugs be fixed?
2013, player progression, offseason trading of playoff eligible players and to a lesser extent trade logic?
ThanksComment
