Sorry if this was already covered, but is the Type A and B free agency not preset this year? Last year it seemed based purely on overall rating and nothing to do with stats.

Re: MLB 11 The Show: Franchise Trade and Off Season Logic Has Been Massively Improved
Is anything going to be done about the way players chose to retire?
I saw players at age 35 retire after seasons where they had career years because of age. It gets frustrating when my RTTS player makes to the majors and there are nearly no veterans left.Comment

MLB 11 Trade Logic
I do not know if this has been brought up recently or not.... About a month ago, maybe longer, there was something mentioned about improving or making some changes to the trade logic in the game this year. I have not seen any follow up to this... unless I'm not looking in the right place. Has anyone heard / know anything about the changes , if indeed there is any?
ThanksComment

Re: MLB 11 Trade Logic
I would like to know this as well. I wish they would make separate threads such as "franchise feedback," "gameplay feedback," "RTTS feedback" etc.
The Q&A is so cluttered with different questions and answers that I have a hard time finding the answers I need. Oh well, can't wait to see what people have to say about franchise mode in general.Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

Re: MLB 11 Trade Logic
I guess he was referring to those who do have the game. I have asked a few franchise based questions, but they get lost so easily with questions about RTTS, gameplay, etc. I just wish they had a thread for each area, so if someone wants to ask a question about franchise, just go to the franchise thread and bam. Just my opinion though.Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

I hear you about questions getting lost. I can see how there is good with it too though as this site has grown.Last edited by leafs nation; 03-04-2011, 03:00 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 Trade Logic
I think the original thread said exactly what was improved. Trade logic. That's the improvement. Not trying to be sarcastic, but what more information are you looking for? It means that the logic in which the cpu trades with is more realistic, hence improved. Improved trade logic. There you go.Comment

Re: MLB 11 Trade Logic
I think the logic looks improved; you still have the problems with players who IRL wouldn't be traded, but at the end of the day it would make sense for these guys to be moved.
For example, I just simmed to July 31st. Sabathia and Hughes got hurt and the Yanks are in 4th in the East...so they shipped Jeter to the Cubs for Castro and a good prospect. Makes sense to me since the Cubs are fighting for 1st in the Central (if anything the Cubs got ripped)
Other "name" guys who got traded were Rios (2 A prospects), Burnett (for Mike Minor), V-Dub (doesn't make $26 mil in this game hah), Teixiera (um...guess the Yanks are really going firesale mode haha...got Freeman + 2 A prospects though), Slowey and Tejada
You could argue with the Yankees firesale, but I think its pretty solid. Yanks system is absolutely loaded now too.Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment

Do you recall how many years Jeter, Tex, and Burnett had remaining?Comment

Re: MLB 11 Trade Logic
I assume it was the same as real life but I just closed the game (Hawk game's on in a bit hah) so I'm not 100% sure.
Also virtually all of the trades happened within a week of the deadline, and more on the 31st than any other day. The only "name" guy who got traded before July was Slowey.Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment
