Time consuming. I don't know how long I will keep at it. I like following major league baseball more than I like riding my *** on the bench all the time. Don't let me talk you out of it if you are thinking about doing it though. My situation doesn't reflect the college baseball experience.Comment

I played at Kent State. Not for long, and not a lot. Thats pretty much the long and short of it.
There is a member of this site who played as high as AA in the Angels organization and gave up back to back home runs to Larry Walker and Todd Helton in a spring training game.Comment

Went to a show case camp, got looked at by the braves org. Got as high as the Rome single A farm club and thats all that it amounted to. Great times and great learning expeirience to teach the son if he ever wants to pursue. Position was 3B and LF/RF."Im all jacked up on mountain dew!"

Re: Ok Show fans, to what level of baseball have you played?
I played 4 years of varsity baseball in high school. Captain my senior year and we won the D2 state championship in MA in 1993 going 24-1. I then went on to play D2 ball at Quinnipiac College in Hamden, CT (now Quinnipiac University and now D1).
Fun times. Now my highlight is coaching my 6 year old's T-Ball team.PSN: bronk14Comment

Haha sweet. My athletic claim to fame is giving up a walk-off jack to Brett Lawrie in a tournament (although it might become sitting besides Milos Raonic in grade 12 calculus if that guy keeps winning tennis tournaments lol)Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment

Played varsity baseball for 5 years in minnesota, then pitched for four years at the D2 level. Never made it any further. Now just play in the summer in Wisconsin.Comment

Re: Ok Show fans, to what level of baseball have you played?
Pitched at Bowling Green University for 6 weeks(juco transfer) until I tore my RC . Rehabbed with Notre Dame's training staff back at home, and could never get the ball above 72 mph again. Even at that, I played on a traveling Semi-Pro team for 2 years(just a junkball pitcher) for a team out of New York.
Before I tore my RC, I did have a try out with the Mets, Pirates, and Expos.........
runN1st( active OS member) was drafted out of Cal by the Angels, but tore his knee up in single A ball. He was a base stealer, and during re-hab put on too much muscle and could never regain the same speed.Last edited by bluengold34_OS; 02-20-2011, 01:08 AM.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

4 years in HS, and had a chance to walk on at the University of Maine, but decided to devote all of my time to school instead (Electrical Engineering). I probably wouldn't have had much playing time anyways, as I was a pretty poor fielder, but decent with the bat.
I REALLY miss playing. I'd love to coach at some point though.Comment

Re: Ok Show fans, to what level of baseball have you played?
Played for a pee-wee softball league for a couple years.. then pretty much 15 years without baseball then tried out for a league in my hometown, my first try with real baseball (other than softball) and damn I was kinda afraid the pitcher would hit me.. that ball sure came to me fast lol. But had a blast but got cut.. I'm a crappy fielder.. not too much of a good hitter but had an awesome experience. So last year I finally decided to join a beer slo-pitch league, felt good to get out and running again eventhough I was pretty much playing injured half of the season with pulled quadriceps and that hurts like hell! Had to pull myself out and sat the week after 'cause I couldn't even walk, like people at my work said.. I looked like I had my butt raped lol.
I usually play in the outfield but last year I had a horrible year there so i asked to move to 2B.. did a bit better there.. but again I was quite rusty as I haven't really played in any leagues or much practice. Think I'm gonna try again this year, hopefully my quads are stronger this time around
It's awesome to see people on here who actually tried out with a major league team, kinda weird 'casue we are pretty much interacting with them which is kinda cool.Comment

Re: Ok Show fans, to what level of baseball have you played?
I've seen some bad luck injury stories here so I thought I would share one about my high school teammate. He was a big prospect 6'3" pitcher clocked at 94 as a junior. Projected as a late 1st round pick. Then in the winter of senior year he falls on the ice during gym class playing broomball. Messed up his shoulder. He never got the velocity back. He got drafted in like the 30th round by the Rays that summer but his dream was done because of that one slip on the ice.Comment
