Re: MLB 11: The Show Demo Screenshots/Videos Thread
Excellent work Blzer! I think this is pretty much what I want my hitting cam to look like. The optical zoom is fairly good (although it would be great if we had control of this), plus the cam is nice and low, and offset JUST a little. Hopefully this cam would give a good view of those low breaking pitches. If I may ask, as the hitter, how does the ball look coming in with this view?
Curveballs are an easy read though, and pitches off the plate can be picked up nearly upon release at times. You might be iffy though with these two pitchers, wondering if their ball will have the right movement to backdoor you with location. It's really nice, but I would prefer tweaking the optical zoom a bit more, like you said.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: MLB 11: The Show Demo Screenshots/Videos Thread
Aside from it being beautiful looking, you might have trouble sensing speed (which is a good thing differentiating fastballs from changeups, a common toughy) and my view on low pitches has been a bit distorted. Not that it's actually tough to determine a ball from a strike, but I feel the strike zone is a bit lower than it used to be. That might not actually be the camera angle though, that might just be the way that it is.

Hey Blzer you wouldn't be working on a MVP style camera would you?Comment

I'm in line for SDSU vs. BYU tickets, have been for over 24 hours now and have over 12 hours to go haha. I might be able to do it by Friday evening, but it's all about whether they have the proper DOF for that style camera.
Are you referring to the offset one introduced in 2003 or the reinvented ones by 2005?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: MLB 11: The Show Demo Screenshots/Videos Thread
the pitch break was exaggerated compared to MLB: The Show, pitches in general came in slower, but there was an even greater differentiation between a 98 mph fastball and an 82 mph changeup (in The Show would be like an 85 mph fastball, 60 mph change), plus there was HITTERS EYEComment

Re: MLB 11: The Show Demo Screenshots/Videos Thread
Yeah, MLB 2K7/2K8 had a nearly identical camera, though I preferred 2K8's only slightly. i think there was more to it than just the camera angle

Perhaps, but I've never defaulted to that camera. I've always used Offset, which for me is much easier determining pitch speeds.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Very strange occurrence - Lincecum's pitch is ridiculously low, yet it is swung at on the rebound.Comment
