Yeah I was hoping we'd have an option to totally hide the meter. I want to use analog but just go off of the pitchers motions. I'm just going to move the meter as far away as I can and make it as small as I can and try that.

Not into the cove, but I hit a 446ft jack with Beltre on a hanging changeup. Since I was a little early it was close to the line -- the HR cam almost made it look foul -- and it hit the inside of the LF facade by the windows. Looked awesome.
Definitely the 18mph wind. You could lower the wind effect slider if it bugs you.
No, but you can make it rather small... perhaps the size of a "dot" gummy candy (depending on TV size of course).
Assuming you know how to access the camera editor with the 2nd controller method... when you are in the editing screen, look at the toolbar. Fairly sure you press triangle, then L1/R1 to switch between meter/analog.
I tried this, but I'm not good enough with analog yet to go blind. While we can't put it in the corner of the TV screen, we can make it small enough and far enough away from the pitcher/batter line of sight that it can be ignored. But it's quite the challenge to pitch without it, at least at this point.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Yeah, i can agree with this.
After more playing, and while i agree analog is a good option for those who like it, i will stick to meter, lets me see more of the models and ani during the pitch...plus ive always like meter pitching anyway.Comment

How does the the original style meter allow you to view the models but the analog one doesn't? Just curious!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Can anybody give me some insight on this? The graphics are great, I'm not ripping on them at all, but I see some jaggies on straight lined objects on the stadium as well as the base path lines. Also some on other areas. Is this just me or is it simply the demo's graphics? I'm trying to figure out if it's my 3 yr old 42" LCD HDTV just not performng the way the TV's do on the videos with Russell's interview or if it's just the game. The graphics are great, I'm not ripping on them at all.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I think Nem its simply because i can hit my spot on the meter easier and with perhaps less concentration than it takes to do it with analog, and also the process of the meter ends a little bit sooner than the analog process giving a split second more time to look at the actual pitcher releasing the ball.Comment

I too see these jaggies, i think (hope) most of it is down to it being a very compressed 3 gig demo and not the 40 gig full game uncompressed, demos are usually a little lacking visually compared to full games ive found, could be wrong though, maybe Ramone or one of the CD guys could chime in?Can anybody give me some insight on this? Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I had this exact problem yesterday. I would suggest looking down at the controller once your ready to throw the ball to make sure you hitting true east (1B) or wherever. I must have been hitting slightly off before i started doing that because i had tons of errors. Can someone please help me with analog fielding? It's ruining the game for me. I love the pitching and batting, it feels so natural, but fielding is a huge turnoff, I just constantly see errors on routine plays.
When throwing, I see errors whether it's a slight tap on light green, half charge to yellow, or full charge to red. What gives? It seems nomatter what I try the ball will go sailing past a fielder at some point.
Should I be trying to charge until it's in the yellow? With the button press in 10, I would charge until the moment the ball released from the fielders hand, but that doesn't seem to work at all anymore. What on earth do I do?
That said, even though i no longer get alot of errors, i am not sure i am a fan of analog over buttons for fielding. If the errors with the buttons are better than last years version. I think i am going to use that.Gamertag and PSN Name: RomanCaesarComment

I don't know if this will help the devs or not fix the issue but this was the case for '10. Pixelated crowd in outfield view, all other views including pitcher were fine. Can't verify every stadium as I only play with the reds, but it seemed the case when i was the visiting team also.Yeah, I was just tweeting w/ Steve_OS about this - it's pretty distracting trying to pitch in broadcast mode, looks like pixelated junk back there...

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I'm pretty sure the color indicators aren't regarding the power of the throw as much as it indicates what the accuracy of the throw will be based on the direction, power, and the player's positioning/situation. I haven't had a single error using analog fielding and I guess it's just been because of how I have controlled my stick "push." I've gotten "green" on every throw I've made and I haven't done the same "push" on the stick every time. During one game, I did hold the stick far too long on purpose on a cut-off man throw from the outfield and the ball went wild. So I assume the people who are havng trouble with this aren't realizing how much of a pre-load or hard push they are performing on the stick.I had this exact problem yesterday. Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Well I do assume that this is because not only is the demo from a december build of the game, but it is also obviously compressed and not in any way the full game. When I heard people were astonished on how great the game looked (from the demo), I kind of reconsidered the assumption I made and started thinking maybe it was my TV not bringing out what others have seen.I too see these jaggies, i think (hope) most of it is down to it being a very compressed 3 gig demo and not the 40 gig full game uncompressed, demos are usually a little lacking visually compared to full games ive found, could be wrong though, maybe Ramone or one of the CD guys could chime in?Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
There are two meters in this system. The one directly under the player determines strength and the outer one indicates accuracy. As soon as you move the right stick towards the intended throwing target both are being calculated. The strength will fill up first and then the accuracy will. Excessive strength can contribute to errors in the yellow to red accuracy range.I'm pretty sure the color indicators aren't regarding the power of the throw as much as it indicates what the accuracy of the throw will be based on the direction, power, and the player's positioning/situation. Accuracy is determined by how far you are off the North, South, East and West points on the controller. Depending on the fielder, their accuracy range may be wider or skinnier based on their ratings. As you increase in fielding difficulty these areas shrink and require you to be more on point. Rookie to veteran is the most generous and really have to work at not making it green. All-Star is actually pretty easy as well but some may see some variability in the system. HOF and Legend will offer the most challenge. Legend only has a 1 or 2% variance for being off point so you need to be practically dead on.
What difficulty level you on? It sounds like you are on the lower levels.Last edited by nemesis04; 02-24-2011, 12:21 PM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment
