I have influenced the flight of the ball a couple of time without him moving, but it seems as though that is not supposed to happen.

Hold R2 then move the R-analog stick for swing influence you will feel a rumble.

does anyone know how to see the speed and br ability attributes of a baserunner on second base? you can see these attributes in the runner windows for the men on first and third, but not the guy on second.

      Thanks!

How do you hit a low pitch????? It's really hard for me to believe that i'm swinging over EVERY changeup and slider. EVERY single one?? A lot of them i can feel when i'm out in front but then there are some when i feel like i'm right on it, i'm not fooled at all and still nothing. No contact, a whiff every single time. If all i'm supposed to do is push the right stick up and the game moves the PCI for me then someone please help me understand what is happening here?

          To those in the know,

I remember reading that there was going to be a timing only option for each of the hitting modes i.e. both analog and button.

I was wondering if this was still the case or if I misunderstood the statement.

With analog I do great up and down but not so good picking left or right. I know it needs practice and I will put the time in. My daughter however just wants a timing option but wants to use analog controls.

          Thanks

I had the same problem when playing with analog hitting.

                a

Do a practice swing first then during the animation load your swing influence

has the broadcast cam been tweaked a bit? It seems to follow the ball shadow. Was there a ball shadow last year?

When using pure analog pitching does the velocity of the pitch depend on how quick or how slow you flick up on the stick?

Can someone explain what PCI is? I see alot of people mention it but I have no idea what it is or does. Thanks.

PCI - Plate Coverage Indicator - The yellow circle that represents a hitter's zone of contact. It can be turned on/off in the gameplay options (although the system that uses it is always in effect, even if the visual indicator is turned off)

Thank you. What is the advantage to turning it on?

Think of it as a hitting cursor. For me , it focuses me on looking for pitches I can get to. I know where my bat is going, and can quickly see whether or not I can get it on the ball

Well, in previous years it was to see the area where you would make the best contact if the ball was pitched there. The circle would also grow and shrink depending on where in the strike zone it was placed (everything outside would shrink the PCI, while everything inside would enlarge it.

It plays the same role this year in zone hitting, except this time around at higher difficulties it pretty much represents the ENTIRE contact zone for a hitter. In other words, on HOF or Legend if you swing at a pitch that you didn't cover with the PCI, you're very likely to swing and miss. In previous years you could still foul it if your timing was good enough.

It has one other purpose this year too - to serve as a visual indication of your step timing in analog hitting. If your timing is perfect, it will get larger (representing a better chance to make contact). If your timing is okay, it'll do nothing. If your timing is poor, it will shrink (representing a decreased contact chance).

I think the 3 different swings (power, contact, and normal) also affect the PCI, but I haven't messed around with them much yet.
