Re: MLB 11 The Show - Overall Team Rankings
26 for my Pittsburgh Pirates!! Thats exciting! lol. So, yes, this list looks good for the most part. The Tigers may be too high though. Now all I need is to see the top ten at each position and I will be happy. Tuesday can't get here fast enough.MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues
NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors
College Sports: Pittsburgh Panthers, Penn State Nittany LionsComment

Re: MLB 11 The Show - Overall Team Rankings
I sure the cpu does the team ratings according to each player attributes on the entire team, so it doesn't matter if your team made the playoff last season or blah blah blah.
my only gripe are the angels? why are they so low?
the rangers are sweeping the floor with them in Franchise/season mode.
I understand the twins, A's and everyone higher being able to argue for being above the angels but COMMON!! really?FTP=PTFComment

For the most part I'd say the ratings are good. Nice to see the Rockies in the Top-10 and the Mets are properly (tough to swallow, I know Knight) rated at 21st, and that could be lower after the Opening Day rosters are released and Santana is off the roster.
I think Houston is underrated, though.Currently Playing:

Re: MLB 11 The Show - Overall Team Rankings
How exactly are the Giants over-rated? I don't have the game in front of me but I can guess their overalls and see why they would be considered "very good".
I don't see a team with a lot "stand-outs" at the position player side of things, but rarely do you get a team that can field players in the B-range overall. You can disagree with me and think that because of the lack of A's and the presence of C's should lower them, but I guarantee other teams ranked around them have similar if not bigger holes.
*Overall takes the last three years, weighted.
Also I think that some of your predictions are a bit high. Zito a B...maybe 3 years ago. Posey and Sandoval may be A prospects but havent done near enough the last two years to warrant A-. Posey may be close but Sandoval no way. Posey hasnt even had a full year yet, it was close getting 400 ABs but still didnt sniff the RBI totals you woudl expect from an A-. SAndoval had one strong year and one (last year) lukewarm. Ross a B...only in the playoffs last year (he is a mid 250s hitter that will stretch to get 50 RBIs again. Not saying these guys arent good but the real reason some of these seem high is because if Posey and Sandoval are A-s then Pujols couldn't even be listed on the scale.
#3 is not a spot for a "Very Good" team given the Rangers and Phils are below them. I would have put the Giants in with teams 5-8. Like I said at #3 in my opinion they are overrated.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show - Overall Team Rankings
I agree with what was stated earlier that the Twins should be a little higher. I would not be surprised at all to see them win the AL Central again. I knew my Indians would be low, but I didn't think they'd be that low! haha I got my work cut out for me.Comment

Re: Overall Team Rankings
I'd argue that we're better than the Cards and Rockies. And honestly, I feel like we're better than the Giants.
Yes, yes, I know -- they won the World Series, but can you honestly say they were the best team in the playoffs? They were the hottest/luckiest team, I'd say. We (the Braves) played them tougher than any other team did in the postseason. Had Conrad not made so many critical errors, I honestly think we could have won that series. Whether we'd have beaten the Phillies after that, I don't know.
So anyway, the Braves are, I believe, better than the Rockies and Cardinals, and possibly the Giants.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show - Overall Team Rankings
When it comes to the Braves, Freddie Freeman will surely be under-valued. Venters and Craig Kimbrel are probably undervalued as well. I also sense people undervaluing Heyward. He slowed down quite a bit at the end of last season, but still put up a 5.0 WAR and 131 OPS+. And yes, that's better than Buster Posey. In the ratings scale, I think he's a legit "A" player right now.
Still, Chipper Jones is on the decline. Prado is overrated. Uggla is a ghastly defensive second baseman. And Lowe is brutal. So, there are some holes there.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show - Overall Team Rankings
I'm probably going to take the attributes from last year's game anyway and put them in it for my Phillies. That's what I love about this game is the fact that I can edit the rosters as I see fit.
I don't want to get into what I think the team ranking should be because it's just going to end up becoming a "my team is better than yours" thread.
I commented on it in the other thread and I honestly wish I hadn't because these are all opinions anyway...
That said, the Phillies are better than the Giants top to bottomComment
