Yes it's hold and release, the longer you hold it the more effort the pitcher uses. If you continue to hold it beyond the pulse, it starts to negatively affect that pitch, based on the pitchers ratings. I walked 5 guys my first game using classic which I never did in previous versions. However I also love total analog pitching and you can tell a difference between the aces and journeymen relievers.S.O.S Crew

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
That sounds like trying to get extra break or extra heat? So, that would mean more effort=less accurate?
Since I merely just tap "X" I should be throwing more strikes, no?

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Did a search but couldn't find it, is it possible to customize the presentation this year, i.e. can we disable auto replays but leave on cutscenes? Or at the least, can we minimize the frequency of the auto-replays?Comment

Presentation options are still Broadcast, RT w/replay, RT, and fast play.
HR celebration on/off
Batter walkup on/off
Thats it for customizing. Does not have an option for minimal or frequent replays

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Simple question. In player edit section for major leaguers or created players can u add wristbands/forearm bands ontop of a long sleeve ala Jeter or A-Rod? Looked like I saw some screenshots where it was do-able, but last year if a player had a sleeve with forearm bands or wristbands then u edit any part of that player the option to have wristbands/forearm bands ontop of a sleeve was not possible. Thanks. LaterComment

I thought of it the same way as the meter. I figured if you tap it, you're way too early on the meter and thus it wouldn't be accurate. I always tried to imagine a meter and release it when I thought I would if I was using the meter.Seattle Pilots GM (2011 - ) Record: 152 - 195

Has anyone simmed a season to see how stats look. Mainly relief pitcher appearances. I'm curious with sliders tied into sim games this year how relief apearances look without adjusting sliders. Also wondering if anyone has simmed a few season in to see if the training glitch was indeed fixed.Comment

CountryBoy,
You mentioned a power outage.
What difficulty, and which controls are you using as of now?Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
I'm on Hall of Fame right now(game is tougher this year on upper levels at least) and I'm using meter pitching and zone hitting.
I don't see any reason for concern in all honesty. Just making light of the fact that I hadn't seen one thus far.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Yeah don't worry people, no power outages. I even hit one using a contact swing(pressing circle). Carpenter hung a curve on a 1-2 count and I took it deep. That was a good feeling.

Playing HOF with zone hitting, and analog pitching. In one exh game against the White Sux, I hit three big fly's back-to back-to back. There is no power outage, but you better bring your A game on HOF this year....Twitch - bluengold34_osComment
