Yeah, that is the correct call. It has something to do with the pitcher being considered a fielder (when not in contact with the rubber, or maybe the other way around), thus 2 bases on a throw out of play.

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Is there a way to get that automatically spacing between names like they did last year. For example DeLosSantos, it would automatically go to De Los Santos. It's back to the way it was in the previous verisons before the '10 version. I was testing to see if Fautino De Los Santos was in game as he did played in majors but no luck 'casue of the limit of characters with manually spacing, and no spacing available.
Any sports games should allow few more characters as there are quite a few players that has a long name. Mark Grudzielanek (however u spell it) is an example along with the De Los Santos name.
Hint hint to the developers for the upcoming patch or games.Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
I've been simming ahead until about 2025 or so (it's taken quite awhile) in order to get a fictional roster, however I didn't think until just now that I had wanted to turn training off. There isn't an option to turn training "off" under "mode options", so I'm wondering if turning training to "manual" is what people on here mean when they talk about turning training off. Turning it to "manual" and then not touching the training window would effectively turn it "off". I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing an option to turn the feature off totally.Comment

You can only truly turn off training with 30 team control
Before you start though...make a PROFILE with the setting you want for the teams and have training to MANUAL.
When you select all 30 teams....give them that profile and you will have no training for the league.

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Is there any way to turn off the right stick option for the fielder jump/dive? I just recently switched back to button fielding, and I'm noticing a small issue. It's probably my fault, but I'm finding that I hold down on the analog pitching follow through a little too long sometimes, and it causes the fielder go into the jumping animation as soon as the ball is put in play.
I know I can fix it by teaching myself to let go of the right stick quickly after my pitches, but it would be nice if I could just turn off this option all together. I didn't see anything in the options though, am I missing something? Is there a way to turn that off?
ThanksNow, more than everComment

Re: baserunning flaw
Originally posted by erictredI've been posting this problem as a glitch and anything else I could think of since last year with mlb 10 and now 11 and still have no solution. I'm beginning to think that since it hasn't been patched or changed in mlb 11 it's intentional.
when I hit a line drive anywhere or even a ground ball up the middle with 2 outs and a runner on first, (or runners on first+second or bases loade)d the baserunner will stop dead in their tracks (sometimes the runner even dives back to first, which is really crazy)...even when it's a hit...inevitably, the outfielder throws the ball to second to get the force...there's NO way this should happen when there are 2 outs!!! my baserunning's on assist, and I even keep my finger on L1 to try to keep the runner(s) moving...
another long-standing baserunning flaw - when I've got my runner moving on a hit and run, and the batter swings and misses, the runner stops dead in his tracks between 1st and 2nd, no matter what I do.
anyone wanna chime in on this? is there a solution?
In bold you should press L1 once to leadoff and then press L2 before the pitcher delivers and that way the runner will take off as the pitcher deliversComment

The vibration was added this year, it indicates the ideal time to release the button.
You can hold it down longer on strike out pitches etc...but watch out because the pitcher will tire much faster if you hold it down longer on every pitch.Comment

Basically, the longer you hold it, the more effort you are putting in.
