I wouldn't mind a couple pictures of Safeco Field with all the scoreboards.

So with the new analog controls, does moving the PCI around do anything?

Its always in the center if you dont touch it, but if you do move the left stick it moves. So I'm assuming it does effect the swing, but others have said no it doesn't.

For those that have the game

Did they finally add the mets '86 uniforms? I've been preying since mvp '05 for these unis.

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread

I have a Cutoff Man Question.

Let's say there is a ball hit into the outfield with a man at first and second. The ball is hit to right field, and the guy from second is going to try and score, and the guy from first is going to try to advance to third.

In real life, there would be a cutoff situation for both plays. So, in the game, if I press the L1 button and push the stick towards third base, will the cutoff man be getting ready for the cutoff throw to third? Likewise, if I decide to try and throw to the plate, will my L1 button and corresponding R-Stick to the plate, have my cutoff man positioned for a play at the plate?

Or, is it simply a generic cutoff man standing at the edge of the outfield, and you throw to where you figure you can throw to?

I guess the gist of the question is whether or not the R-stick input combined with the L1 button will make the cutoff throw to the intended final target as based on the R-stick input?

                  Thanks,

You can't dictate a specific cutoff man to throw to. In your situation it would hit the cutoff man responsible for the lead runner heading home which would be the first baseman. At that point you would determine if you wanted to throw home or to third.

Can't believe how amazing and true to life the graphics look. The turf looks perfect, everything is just so much better then last year. This pic is going to make the wait until Tuesday even longer. Those that got the game early are lucky. Won't be happening in my town.

                      A couple of quick questions

                      1. Are the first two rows of seats behind homeplate (action seats) the correct colour red? They were always blue (wrong) just like the rest of the seats in past years.

                      2. Are the premium seats around homeplate and behind dugouts a darker shade of blue compared to the rest of the seats? In past years every seat in the stadium was the same blue shade.

                      3. Do the World Series banners have the correct (78-93) logo on them?

                      4. Are the foul poles a yellow mesh that hangs down? In past years they were yellow, but were metal which is wrong.
yes amazing. I watched a live feed yesterday night. The guy played 2 innings at Rogers Centre and even if it's not the prettiest stadium, SCEA talents made it gorgeous.

Only deception maybe for Jays fans, from what I've seen when the guy scrolled through caps (he did it so fast) in the mix&match uniforms screen, their T cap used a lot last year ( instead of the J one) is in only in the BP version.

Can someone who have the game can confirm this ?

                      thx

To further answer that guy's questions since I saw some of that video

                        1. Still blue unfortunately
                        2. They were different last year actually, so I don't think that's a problem
                        3. Couldn't tell...if anyone watched the opening cutscene from the start of the game they'd know better than me
                        4. Doubtful, since they still look like mesh and it just sounds like metal when you hit them

Not being able to choose the T hats would be pretty disappointing considering they wear them with the black jersey (and it was available last year), but I guess we'll see.

Okay cool... Maybe next year we see specific targets for the cutoff.

Case in point, let's say Ichiro is at second, well, we know we are not going to throw that guy out at the plate, so the input for the cutoff man responsible for third base would get triggered by the L1 button, and the R-stick button being pushed towards third base.

This would make more sense, plus, it would add some nice strategy for not having to try and get the lead runner every time, especially if you already know that the speed that guy has predicates there being no chance to get him.

                          Thanks for the answer.

This is something I would love to see in the game.
I spoke to Chris about this....and he absolutely understands our wants to have this in the game.
I think he even said they had something in place for it...but it was making for some ugly, unrealistic animations and until they got it worked out...they just removed it.(I actually think THAT was last year he told me that...but we did touch on it again this year and he realizes it's a pretty important part of the game). The new player models stretched them thin on just getting the old animations and new ones in....so introducing another new system(cutoff) on top of the control schemes was just not in the cards.
I think we'll see a cutoff system in the future.(just my guess)
