Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

So despite leading the International League in BA, SLG. and OPS, I didn't get a September callup the 2nd year.My role has changed to MLB Starter however, and I'm the starting CF for the Reds beginning the 3rd year. I've improved Contact, Power, Speed and Fielding to 65 and most of the rest are 60+. Bunting is 50, and the baserunning skills are far behind. One strange thing is that I'm a B overall, but all the other skills are D's

Thanks. I'll load an old save and see if my name is up there.

What rally sucks is the Rangers won the World Series in year 2 and I would have been on that team!!!

Quick question, would it be worth buying MLB 11 The Show if I already have 10 and I mainly play RTTS? I played a good deal of MLB 10, but about 95% of my time was spent on my RTTS SP. With the move from meter pitching to analog pitching and any improvements to RTTS as a mode, would it be worth it to upgrade to 11?

I think the upgrade is most worth it for those who play RTTS. I like the new ratings/points system a lot better. Overall the biggest improvements seem to be to RTTS.

I HATE going through all the games as well...baseball season in video games is way too long...I like the idea...I'm actually going to make a CP right now, and try and be the next Mariano Rivera. I actually used to be a CP when I played in little league, and my last season ever playing pitcher I threw a no-hit "game" (I played 9 full innings at CP that season, which is the equivalent to a game). I gave up no hits, 1 unearned run, 5 walks, and I had 21 strikeouts. My sinker KILLED the other players

RTTS got a lot of attention in MLB 11 so I think it might be worth it to you unless you are still devoted to your player from last year's game. Building up training points this year is a lot more fun because you are graded per batter faced or at-bat rather than just the goals. The goals will still aggravate you some from the standpoint of accomplishing them without much praise, but you won't be penalized during a game with negative points for not accomplishing a goal.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

I finished the 2012 season with my Orioles CF. I played the whole season in the majors, never being sent down to AAA so I thought that was a good accomplishment. The first half of the season was a real struggle batting around .200 and never really getting over .210. But starting in late July it really started coming together for me. I ended the year with a .279 average, 16 homeruns, and 46 RBI. I also had 29 stolen bases. So a pretty solid year my first year in the majors. Hopefully next year I get out of the bench role but I still got plenty of starts. I think I had around 460-something at bats during the 2012 season.

Sadly now, I'm going to give my RTTS player a longer than normal offseason. I'm going to wait until the second patch comes out and hope it fixes any offseason free agency issues that might arise after the 2012 season. So I'm going to switch gears to franchise until that happens or possibly start another RTTS career with a pitcher.

I really enjoying mine so much that I've barely even touched the auctal game. They are times when I may only pitch twice a week so it makes the season go by fast. You can get through one season in a night or two. I'm in year 4 and I've been the set up man most of my career and its still cool as lots of time i enter games with people on base. Also if you have a girlfriend/wife or non sports fan friend its easy enough for them to pick up and play. Because the games only take about 5 min and all you have to do is throw the pitch and sit back and watch.

Currently in my second year with the Cardinals (got traded from the Braves for Pujols in his contract year). Playing on HoF, my rookie year I hit .372 with 72 hr and 177 steaks...I was like ok cool. This year, it is been someone what of a struggle. Going into Sept, my player is at .333 with 40-something hrs and 115 rbis. Not to bad right? During late July into August I hit about .190. It was the first time in any of the MLB games that I had the cold icon on my RttS player. Strange. I use timing hitting and the PCI randomly chooses a spot to go to and some times I get "weak hits" or pop ups...frustrating. Btw, using default sliders.

Does anyone know how you actually become a free agent and your able to select the team you want to play for, or when you can actually be traded. I'm so sick and tired of playing for the WORST team/s in the league, best offense in the league because of ME, yet the absolute worst pitching staff I've ever seen.

For 2 seasons straight with interactions I must have said I wanted traded about 25 times each season, and the manger/management gives some lame excuse every time. At what point will they finally trade you, besides when your benched for no reason. Oh and this is all while being the best player on the team - stats and rating wise.

Back to the free agent part, it says after 6 seasons you can finally be a free agent, so why after my 7th year, being a former MVP with a 64 home run year, is only 1 team giving me an offer, and I cant pick another team?

A new issue, why in the heck is the team so dumb when it comes to contracts? I try to demand more money, then finally they give me a final offer, and get this, you can go low as 300k and they still decline the offer, but want to pay like 11 million and wont go any higher or lower. Its so damn dumb.

Now for a gripe. Why the heck do I get benched because I fail one steal attempt while I'm leading the league in HR's, Hits, RBI's, Run's, Batting Average, yet I get benched because of one bad steal attempt? Thats a major error I swear. "On fire" for 4 months straight in the season, and I'm benched during a 22 game hit streak THEN I get brought in as a pinch hitter, and lose my hit streak due to getting 1 at bat in a game, talk about BOGUS!!

There are some bugs with how the Franchise AI evaluates contracts and whatnot. Since RTTS uses the same logic, the bugs are there also. It should be fixed in the next update (which is coming at an unknown date).
