Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

I'm already fed up with this mode. My player got traded to the Astros in the middle of my 2nd year, and they have an A potential prospect ahead of me at 2B.

Nevertheless, I still met nearly all of my goals despite simming most of the games (3 out of 4 goals usually always works) yet I keep getting denied promotion based on my stats. Then my BACKUP on the AAA bench, also an A potential 2B prospect, got called up even though he wasn't on the 40-man either.

I started the game at 22 years old to be realistic......and 4 full years in and I can't catch a break. They keep telling me my stats aren't good enough. That's because I can't improve my other stats because I'm too busy meeting the goals. Guess I should have started at 18....by the time I get to the bigs I'll be ready to retire.

After 3 stints on the DL in my first year, the Phillies traded me to the Angels. I am now hitting .356 with 10 HRs, my fielding is sub-par though. I love this game.

I can not hit in AAA, I am currently hitting around .200 for the season as a utility player in the Giants system. I just seem to hit everything right at someone.

My RTTS 3B got drafted by the Nats and just now got traded to the Rockies(couldn't ask for a better team to get traded to position and park wise imo).

          In 159 ABs my stats so far in AA, .333 AVG 5 HR, 12 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 28 RBIs, 2 BBs 32Ks

I'm hitting on veteran timing, i'll move up to all star when I get up to AAA or MLB haven't decided yet. Just moved Strike Consistency down from 3 to 2 and may go lower, that may help my walk total cause it seems I get way to many great pitches to hit in the first few pitches

I love that skill do not decrease as fast as last year. Some of my skill I haven't put any points into for 5 weeks and the still have not decreased yet. Makes it a lot more realistic in my opinion, plus its easier to "build" the type of player you want to be.

Top of the 9th 2 outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd. I crush a HR to go up by 1. I actually starting screaming cause I thought I just hit a walkoff until I realize it was the top of the 9th. Then with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th I get a routine grounder and in my mind i'm saying just a nice easy green throw to first to seal it. Nope I bounce it and lose the game on an error.

Lol this reminds me of prison break, which I'm currently rewatching, at season 2 where sara's at therapy.

Anyways, finally had my back to back best pitching game, after sucking for a while. While my record is not bad, I allow a lot of hits, esp home runs. I would do really good until 5th or 6th inning, when they will bomb me for 3-4 hits and runs. Until my two game stretch...

                  Cubs (me) vs Blue Jays: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 0 ERA, 1 BB, 9 K.

                  Cubs vs White Sox: 8.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ERA, 0 BB, 11 K.

The White Sox game is rewarding because earlier they killed me badly, with 7 hits, 4 of which were home runs, 7 earned runs, all in just 4 innings. This two game stretch brought my ERA down to 3.31 from 4.90. Loving this game way more than 09 and 10!

What team is best to start out with as a starting pitcher? I'm currently playing with the whitesox franchise and I'm getting sick of being a relief pitcher all the time. I'm dominating, but not getting put into the rotation.

I created a second baseman and got drafted tothe Detroit Tigers...through 24 games with the AA Erie SeaWolves I'm batting .264 with 4 doubles, 4 runs scored, 1 HR, and 13 RBI's...I've had some tough games.

I just got promoted from the bench to a starter...I'm also the leadoff man.

I started my second career as a Reds CF prospect using a downloaded roster. I'm hitting around .400 with 3 HR this time around, but I'm still riding the bench in Mid-May. I'm on a different roster set, so that might be part of the reason. I also failed 2 advancement goals recently, so that might have set me back a little.

While playing left field for the AA Arkansas with RESULT PLAY activated (seeing the last pitch of every at bat), I almost witnessed a no hitter by my team mate. He had a no hitter going with one out in the 9th inning when a seeing eye single made it just past our diving 2nd baseman. Thought that was pretty cool!!

On a side note, I noticed that the game did not register a throwing error earlier in the game by our SS. At the end of the game, it showed us having no errors.

                              Info about my RTTS player:

                              Name: Brian Happel
                              Ht/Wt: 6'2" 210 lbs.
                              B/T: Left/Right
                              Primary position: Right Field
                              Secondary position: Outfield
Built my player mostly as a power guy with a cannon arm, decent speed but more balanced on that category.

I was initially drafted by the Mets and placed on the AA Binghamton club. I was starting by mid-April and have been tearing up the league (right now, I'm just playing on Rookie, Guess 1/4 - haven't really changed the sliders except to try and get more balls, because just about every pitch is a strike, but honestly - I just want to get to the big leagues as fast as possible, then I'll really up the difficulty to get real stats).

Early July - was traded - the Mets sent Ike Davis and myself to San Francisco for Aubrey Huff. I was placed on the AA Richmond team. I then made the Futures All-Star game and just played that. I was put in as a pinch hitter in the 7th, popped up with a runner at second. Then in the bottom of the 10th, with the score tied at 3 - I nailed a 1-2 slider out of the park FOR A WALK-OFF HOME RUN!!!! Holy crap, that was awesome!!!

This game is amazing - so much fun!! And, I haven't even made it to the majors. I played '09 continuously.. didn't get '10 last year, because I wanted to go deep into and finish some of my RTTS careers. Man, am I glad I got '11!

                                OK, what am I missing?

I spend the .99 online for 1000 Training Points, hoping to buff up an already-existing RTTS career I've started.

The points are nowhere to be found.

There is no place to download them from the PS Store, they are not in my RTTS ... how do I get a hold of these points?
