Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
Originally posted by CuseGirlI noticed that as well. I have a Sony 1080p and when the game loads, there's a point where the "no signal" screen comes up because it's switchign resolutions. Why would SCEA put on the back of the label that it plays in 1080p tho? Just a bit confusing. Game is still beast tho
Sony first party games never used to have "scaled" resolutions on the box like MSFT was doing, but it appears they are starting to do it now too.
It can play on your 1080p, but it is scaled. I guess it is there for the average Joe doesn't get confused. I dunno.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
as a side question, does anyone know if that lag that some of us are forced to play in PC mode lessened in 720p mode so i can go back to playing in that resolution instead of forcing my Samsung to play in PC mode?Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

That is dependent on your TV I think unfortunately, not the game itself.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
I feel as some others on here in 1080p on my Panasonic plasma I do see jaggies on the mound and even in the player models but not to the point where i'm like "that looks horrible", some things do look slightly better on 1080p, I swear I can see the scores on the scoreboard a little clearer, maybe it's just in my imagination. The one thing that bothers me on 720p is the image resizing you have to do to get it to fit the screen, it's supposed to save that in your custom settings when it loads but it always seems like it's off to one side or the other when it loads up again I then have to go in and adjust the picture every time before I play the game, that irratation alone and the fact that 1080p looks identical to me just with a few jaggies here and there makes me at least at this point stick on 1080p just so i don't have to keep adjusting picture size.Last edited by captaink; 03-29-2011, 09:46 AM.Comment

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
I've been playing 09 and 10 on a 26" or so HD tube Sony TV that only supports up to 720p. It's one of the first HD TVs, and has excellent picture quality, and I got it for just $150. Anyways, I actually have been playing through component cables since the 1 HD port was taken up by my cable box. My father just bought a huge 46" top of the line Samsung Smart TVs and I couldnt wait to try out 11 on his TV. So I plugged it in, and couldn't help but notice how MANY things were pixelated and way too crisp. I was disappointed and thought maybe the TV was just "too good" in that everything is way too clear and crisp. But then I remembered reading in past years about the whole 720p thing, so I tried unchecking 1080i and 1080p on my PS3, but to be honest it didn't look much different; everything was still too crisp and jagged. I'll admit that I only had a chance to look at it for about 10 minutes, but I wasn't too thrilled. Even the colors were not as vibrant and somewhat bleached out in places. I couldn't believe that my old smaller HD tube tv looked much better even with component cables than this new top of the line HD Samsung! Anyways, people here seem to know what they're talking about, and definitely more than I do. Do you think it's still looking too crisp because I didn't turn off the "Upscaler" on my PS3? Thanks, and forgive the possibly ignorant question.Comment

No need to uncheck anything. Putting all of the resolutions in check would make the game play in native form which is 720p but the tv upscales the image to it's native which is 1080P
Play with the settings to brighten the colors and make the picture a bit darker because PS3 usually has washed out colors and needs tweaking to get the darker pallet

That is just first time 1080p quality pq showing. It is different and therefore not as enjoyable as the coming days when your eyes are settled.
