Re: MLB 11 The Show: "The Little Things" Thread

I'm enjoying Karros's commentary about how each team faired last year, what their expectation are this year, etc.

Hopefully they limit how much he says that stuff during franchise though, or it could get awfully repetitive.

Had a pop fly to left and apparently I had Gomes slightly off center from where the ball was going to impact and he lifted both his arms and looked left and right like he lost it in the sun and the ball bounced next to him.

Short hopper in the outfield that hit Stubbs on the inside of his thigh and when it fell to the grass he ended up kicking it into right then looking around for where it went before chasing it down.

The position specific animations for pitchers being hit by comebackers is great. I have had pitchers hit in the legs and arms and they limp or shake the correct limp. Also there was specific commentary when my pitcher got hit in his throwing arm.

Using Strasburg, in the 3rd inning i threw a pitch and they showed the cut scene where he got injured and I had to bring in a sub. They said, "Oh man, I hope they didnt' rush him back too quick from his off season surgery"

Slow roller up first... Grabbed the ball with pitcher and the runner did a little jump turn to avoid being tug....

I tested the game using Aroldis Chapman and just like real life, 95% of the fastballs he threw were over 100 MPH. Even hit 102 with one. Curious to see what's the fastest he can throw.

Correct me if this was in previously, but I don't remember it...the white marker for fly balls also shows up on the wall at Fenway, so you know where it will hit off.

Was watching some gameplay on Youtube, and if you are playing the first game of a regular season series, it sounds like the announcers will now tell you how a player did in the last game of the previous series. Last year, they would only mention a player's stats within the series you are currently playing in, meaning that if you played the first game of the series, you wouldn't hear anything like this.

Check out this clip. When Pujols comes up (0:15), they say "he's coming off a 3-hit ballgame in Sunday's series finale." That's some good stuff right there.

Is there a way we can get the Red Sox St Patty jerseys as an option to use threw out the year? Love those jerseys.

Cub fans will know what I am talking about.
                              That's awesome.

I didn't play enough of last year's game to notice, but the scoreboard clock at Wrigley actually advances. I thought that was extremely cool.

I honestly think I just finished the most fun video game sport I've ever played. I was losing 5-0 with the Cubs against the Cardinals at Wrigley. Carpenter was dominating me, having struck out 10 and allowed only 3 hits (I suck at hitting). Tony "The Genius" LaRussa left him in to try to get the shutout. Sure enough, Carpenter's elbow exploded after his 103rd pitch, I broke up the shutout, and Tony brought in 3 different pitchers to face 3 different batters. With a 4-run lead. PERFECT LaRussa micromanaging nonsense.

Also, I love that the pitcher hits 8th in the Cards lineup.

                              Incidentally, I despise Tony LaRussa.
Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
                              Sutcliffe comes through, and....
Pa, see what you did to me?

Didn't read the whole thread, so don't know if this was mentioned yet. Heck, don'y even know if this was intentional, or just happened to look like it did by accident:

Cubs at Reds. Dempster on the mound, and gets Brandon Phillips to pop out to RF. Fukudome throws it back to the IF. I was doing something else, so I didn't see all of it, but I look up in time to see the player (whomever it was in the IF) throw it back to the mound. He threw it low (around Demps ankles), and he reaches down to catch it. Takes one step back towards the mound, stops and looks back in the direction the throw came, and sort of gives this "WTF was that" kind of a look. Like he was giving his teammate crap for the bad throw.
