I don't disagree with you barnes my point was that I doubt this is an issue that can be fixed via a patch. -
Re: Franchise Issues
By no means am I an expert in coding or anything, but a patch is a change in code. Code that is to be overwritten is then extracted and replaced. I believe (Again don't quote me) Almost anything can be patched, heck Windows core features are patched all the time.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
He was being sarcastic....
and could we stop calling it "30 team control" and maybe call it "30 team access" so the new guys to "The Show" will stop thinking they have to control the other teams day-to-day operations, or even go to the other 29 teams page for that matter.."I'm just saying"
We are where we are so I guess it doesn't really matter I'm just saying don't hold your breath on this guys. I'm pretty sure if they could fix this via patch they would have done it for last years game. I think it's a fix for 12 at this point. I feel we need to keep on it enough so they can't play dumb right before release.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
I hope you are right and by no means am I trying to rain on the parade but this was as an issue last year and wasn't patched so I'm not sure why it would be this year. I really hope it is and like the devs being involved here but I'll withhold any excitement over a patch until we hear specifics back from Russ.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
When they start talking about patches they have to prioritize their time. I think they tried to hit as many issues as they could and ran out of time.
They needed to start work on 11. Now since they have stated that these problems were addressed with trading ai and budgets I feel this will be a priority.
This is a great team and I will remain positive and optimistic until I am told differently.Comment

I guess I don't recall anyone saying they found it was an issue of mlb teams not having control of minor leaguers for 6 years as they should and then them saying they fixed it. Maybe one of the devs did but I don't remember seeing it.Comment

If you read the responses that follow I think you would find that it was not a sarcastic response.

Re: Franchise Issues
Russ was made aware of the 2013 issue in this thread. http://www.osatwork.com/forums/showt...t=Season+Logic
He said he would go and check on it and came back with this:
So I've been playing Franchise mode almost exclusively all this week as Kolbe and Ulman have been making changes. I can report the cpu is much much more intelligent when making trades and accepting user ones. The 2013 bug with A rated players being rampant in free agency is completely gone. Teams don't give up their potential super stars for anything less than fare market value.
I've made it all the way to 2015 in a couple of the simulations and everything looks pretty good.
And no dev ever addressed the 6 year player control or arb issue being fixed.
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see it Hopefully the arb issue can be fixed via the patch as well.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Well, this makes RttS obsolete and broken right now.
Very disconcerting...Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Season mode doesn't use position training like franchise does - it's not that much of a stretch to think RTTS doesn't either (Note: players still progress/regress in season mode despite the lack of training).Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Is there even any confirmation that this bug affects RTTS at all? And how would you even check it - you can't view a FA list in the mode to my knowledge. Only way I can think of to check it would be to make a note of the retired players and then go through every single team's roster looking for big names that disappeared.

I have no confirmation, but when one plus one always equals two, it will never somehow equal anything but 2. Franchise mode and RttS is essentially the same thing, however, the cpu controls all teams rather and you control yourself.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
You are assuming that the issue is CPU logic. If it is purely a training issue or something similar, it wouldn't necessarily affect RTTS.Comment
