Never had the catcher freezes before the patch, and do not have them after either.

The beginning SCEASD sound stuttering in the beginning is definitely due to being signed into the PSN, because it does not do it if you boot the game up signed out.

It really is not a freeze, it is more like a hiccup or quick stutter before throwing the ball back to the pitcher.

Gotcha, I will have to pay more attention next time. Never noticed. But I will try to see if I see it when I play again.

Was this issue ever figured out? Just got the game, started a RTTS pitcher and the game sort of hiccups right in the middle of the animation on EVERY throwback by the catcher.

Doesn't do it during the warmup pitches, the animation is smooth there.

Would love to know how to fix it, as it is driving me to distraction.

Only does it during rtts mode but it does it on every catcher throw back to the mound. Doesn't do it in any other mode.

Game stutters sometimes...No way to fix.

Rebuilding database certainly didn't help except on the intro.

I was having this problem and it was ruining the game for me. I was also having this problem in madden after the ball was snapped. The fix I found absolutely worked, but was unfortunate. The problem was I upgraded my hard drive. After doing some more research I found that some hard drives, the western digital in my case, don't continuously run therefore causing sputters in games. I took it out and put back in the 80gb hard drive that came with the playstation and all the problems are fixed. So anyone that is having this problem and have a new hard drive look up more info on the one you installed.
